It's funny that the Vics say there is no advantage when a Vic team plays a Vic team because it's neutral territory. They forget to take into account the fact that they all get to sleep in their own beds at night and MCG/Marvel only requires a slight change in the route that they take to get there. Even if they play in Ballarat or Geelong, they still get to go home and sleep in their own bed within a couple hours.

The best way to even up the home town runs that Vic clubs get, is when they have an 'away' game in Vic, the players, coaches, supporting staff etc get onto a plane at the airport, that takes off and loops around Sydney/Adelaide/Canberra and back to Melbourne a day before the game (or morning of for night games). They then have to stay in a hotel the night before the game and the night after. Then they all pile onto the plane again, back to Sydney/Adelaide/Canberra and finally dropped off at the airport where they have to find their own way home. That squares everything up, in terms of both travel fatigue and cost.
Like that idea

Majority push from clubs in meetings with the AFL today for a “grandfather period” into 2025 on changes to draft value index and bidding system for father-son, next gen and northern academies, which clubs want a universal formula for. Among the views put forward in meetings steered by Josh Mahoney and Ned Guy …-
A mid season trade period with picks only.-
trading two years in advance & not three.-
pick 54 (end of third round) the last selection with points value attached-
a delay on pick purchasing given complexity.

Heard a rumour Gold Coast offering 2 first round picks for Daniel Rioli. Surely that's a pi$$take? If not, they have too many Academy prospects they can take with third round picks.

You just watch the boys do it for Daddy this week.
It’s not just a game anymore, it’s about Family!!!🤪

It's OK, we only have to play a few teams who actually have structure and they will beat us, the love in will collapse at some point.

No way all the players are on board either, the younger ones must be going, hang on you've had 12 years and here we are....

I’m still expecting a much better effort this week.
It’s not just Hinkley’s future on the line.

Lol Reilly O'Brien brought back to the crows side the week that Ned Moyle signs a new deal with Gold Coast. Coincidence?

Nicks has done a Hinkley on Borlase he was starting to settle in as a defender then he throws him forward and he looked like a fish out of water and now he's dropped again.
I Think hes actually alright in defence

I think Academies should be open for all.

End “NextGen” and “Northern Academies”. Just make it equal to everybody.

Zone the country fairly even. Limit the number of first-choice players the clubs can have each year. Let them draft those unpicked regardless of zoning.

In the main draft day, no advantage. Prior to “rookie draft”, you have first call on undrafted players from your Academy. That’s it.

He wasn't happy leaving training.
