Who else do I need to know?
Ebony O'Dea is the AFLW Tom Logan. Cult hero. Probably drives a ute.

Seems fitting that we get an elimination final against the Tiges. I remember another elimination final against the Tiges that went ok (probably our best game in the last 20 years). Also how good to be building a rivalry with a real football club.

We're absolutely capable of winning this with Tilda and Abbey back, as we're in much better form than when we played them in H&A but let's not kid ourselves, this should be close. For me the two keys are 1. Stopping Mon Conti, and I feel like we did a great defensive job on Rowbottom a couple weeks back, sharing the load between Window, Dowrick, Moloney and a couple of others, and 2. Forward line efficiency... we know what we can get from Houghton but in particular players like Mules and Wendland are going to need to make their moments count. Let's lift and get it done.

Hope you don’t mind the intrusion.

Ebony Odea might just be the most unnerving kamikaze in the league.
Read an interview with her on that jump..

More specifically, she holds the world record for "platform long-jump", a unicycling event in which competitors have to jump as far as they can between two wooden platforms, suspended above a concrete skate park.

"If you don't make it, you eat shit," O'Dea told the ABC.

"I love tackling," O'Dea said excitedly. "Like, let's just get rid of the footy, let's just tackle each other."

Secondly only to tackling, she says, is being tackled.

"I just love hitting and getting hit. I love contested footy. If you're gonna dish it, you've got to take it.
"Hannah Ewings at training [last week] gave me a great shepherd; it floored me and I was grinning. Tackling just makes me smile, I love it when your bones rattle."

This attitude might explain why O'Dea was able to take to the field in round one, despite having suffered a collapsed lung just weeks earlier.

* a collapsed lung…

"I was sort of fine," she said. "Well, I couldn't breathe in the whole way," she laughed. "But how often do you really breathe in the whole way anyway?"

Wtf

She’ll be lining up on Yassir and maybe they’ll send her on the ball for a bit just to scare the sh.t outve our midfield.

Congrats on making finals and best of luck Sunday.

Power defender fires first shot at 'scared' Tigers ahead of crunch final

With Matilda Scholz and Abbey Dowrick returning from injury, Ange Foley believes Richmond is scared of facing Port in Sunday's final

Matilda Scholz is our new kween. She can change a game single-handed.

Abbey Dowrick (#5) is a gun midfielder.

Ebony O’Dea (#2) is as tough as they come.

Piper Window (#4) has an unusual kicking action.
Piper Window’s first season reminds me of Abbey Dowrick’s first season. Putting in huge efforts, has all the right attributes, but finding it difficult to break tackles that she could probably easily crash through in U18s.

Like Abbey, I’m sure she’ll continue to put in huge efforts and will work it out. If her first season hasn’t been as outstanding as Shineah Goody or Molly Brooksby, I expect her to be the big improver next year.

Is this another Daniel Norton masterstroke?

“Let’s drum up extra interest!”

Ange might want to practise bending down and getting the ground ball instead of shooting her gob off.

Love watching Piper. Needs to work on her kicking.

Lol that's fantastic, Ebs sounds like a total maniac :D

It would be a pleasant change to see an opposition team scared of playing Port in a final. Much rather that talk than the opposite we've become accustomed too.
