WESTERN Bulldogs defender Jason Johannisen will miss a significant chunk early in the season after suffering a hamstring strain at training on Wednesday.
After consulting with specialists, the Bulldogs have opted to send the 32-year-old in for a surgery to give Johannisen the best chance of a full recovery.

Looking forward to seeing a young Matt Rowell approaching his prime taking less money for the lifestyle of Geelong while also owning a multi million dollar farm and being a board member at a sponsor in the future
Plenty of Afl supporters believe this lifestyle of Geelong crap. Afl Players chase money. Geelong must be rorting the system & the Afl are allowing it. They obviously have friends in high places.

I dunno, having a hobby farm and a couple Ford Rangers given to me and experiencing more of a relaxed country like lifestyle whilst getting to play for the most successful footy club of the last 20 years and still getting more than your fair share of big prime time slots and big crowds at the MCG would be appealing to me as opposed to playing for Collingwood and living in and around the Melbourne CBD.

Good luck getting your soy latte in sub 10 minutes on a farm!

The Victorian government? Not suggesting any corruption.

Given the money invested by the state government into GMHBA to build Geelong as a second CBD, (including a ridiculous amount for a score board), they need sell outs to justify it.

Well as long as those financial benefits are included within the player salary cap I have no issue.

Nice work by the Tiser promoting the Crows new "home kit".

So the merged Adelaide Uni/UniSA business monolith has signed a multi-year, multi-million dollar corporate sponsorship deal with the Adelaide Crows

Another reason to hate the corporate greed and declining standards of the state's higher education sector industry.

BTW, former PAFC Board member Amanda Vanstone is a part of the Adelaide University merger transition council that I assume approved this sponsorship deal.

I guess that means Flinders Uni ramps up its dealings with us given that the new Adelaide University mob has made it an us vs them arrangement?

Is that what the actual article was about.

Don't read the Advertiser. But am aware of the new sponsorship deal announced yesterday.

Seems to me that articles describing the new 'take how syphilis kit' and the crows sponsorship deal were placed side by side in the paper and some wit took a landscape screenshot of the page with the photo from one with the headline and text of the other. Very clever. Where did you snare the pic from?

I am the wit :)

Watching the basketball on the box.

Lethargic 36'ers shooting around 30% from the field, missed about 8 or 9 shots from right under the basket.

No movement in offence. One bloke gets the ball, and the other 4 stand around like traffic bollards.

Finals on the line against a side decimated by injury.

Reminds me of a football club I know that chokes in pressure games.

Looking a little sharper after half time.
