Maybe if this was such an issue then Hamish shouldn't have picked him and the usual suspects wouldn't have called for him to be our pick and then quickly drop off him.

I watched him live destroy Port this year in a clutch game, the kid has it.

Yup. It's just confidence and needing a bit of faith from the coaches that's holding TT back at this point.

Give him a key role and everything with TT will just click into being an elite player. The fact he's in the top 20 for contested marks per game - off one of the lowest average TOG% in the league - tells you he's ready.

Faith from the coaches, how many games did he play last year? As for contested marks stat, how many were pack marks, how many against 5 ‘ 10” how many times does he run under the footy when he has a defender trailing behind him, geez don’t just keep looking the good

If we follow the Berry/Pedlar development path then he spends a year at HF.

Pretty much the only spot available to him.

Hopefully we've learned our lesson and let him cook there for a couple of seasons without any meaningful inside midfield minutes seeing how much of a mess we've found ourselves in with Harry, Jones and Berry when we have rushed it.

Positive note I saw - Rachelle, Soligo, Nank training at the gym yesterday.

Said to Soligo, are you boys try to bulk up to take over the midfield? He said we are trying.

I like the bond those 3 have got going on.

Don't underestimate the role Rachele has had in this. He's come into the club, immediately embraced it and gone out of his way to build a real culture with the other young kids. Says a lot about his family (if you ever meet mum or dad you will immediately understand).
These 3 in particular are very close, but others including Pedlar are also often in the mix. They really do get on well together.

I'm punchy on Billy Dowling having a breakout 2024
I really hope so. I saw in Billy a bit of the same as what I saw in Soligo - someone who, under the most heat, makes the right instinctive decision. Soligo tends to do it by foot, while Dowling does it by hand, but both open the game up by doing it.

A fair few of the lads went to Bali for their off-season holiday. Was a big group of them and great to see.

Berry is the one that needs to pull his finger out.

Thilthorpe also needs to spend the entire off season on Marking and set shot kicking.
Just a phase re his set shot kicking and likely more mental than anything

My advice would be not to get too hung up about it as is generally a very good set shot

Would love to see him get stronger and more aggressive

Probably on the wing

Endurance is a strength and has an innate ability to find the ball

His contested game is still evolving
I read a AFL coach recently say wing is one of the hardest positions, because the player is involved in all of the (sorry, have to say it) structures, from defence to mid to forward.

Maybe why you don’t see too many first years there? (altho Hollands at Carlton did this year for example)
