Looks like they have made some changes to the training as well.

Nick Poulos has been appointed as strength and speed coach, and because of his rugby background will also work with the players to develop their tackling skills.

Matthew Bode, who returned to the Crows in a part-time position last season, has been made full-time in his role as fitness coach.

I am guessing that this is our new strength and speed coach: http://tonicconnective.com/NP4b/np_web.swf
Anyone heard of him?

Defender Daniel Talia will head up a small group of players on modified programs when pre-season training gets under way next week.....
The promising 20-year-old will join Graham Johncock (ankle), Chris Knights (hip) and Shaun McKernan (ankle), who all had minor surgery at the end of last season, in being eased into full training.

Has Knights ever started pre-season on the full program??

the best chance for members and supporters to watch new coach Brenton Sanderson put the players through their paces will be on Max Basheer Reserve on Thursday.

Anyone going to head down next Thursday?? I want to go, just to meet Sando! :D

I must say that at this time of year, my mood is directly proportionate to the quality and frequency of the training reports...

please, if for no other reason, someone head down for me.:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Agreed! I can't get there, but LOVE the reports.
Will be very keen to hear what Sando's focus is on. Love the fact we have appointed a strength coach with a tackling emphasis!!!!!!!
Perhaps we won't have a team full of middle-distance runners anymore??

Have we not had one before?

or has this just been Melbourne Storm players making guest appearances at training?

I would love to see:

Van Berlo: Bulk up

Rutten: Slim down

Danger: work on endurance

MacKay: strengthen those hammies

Knights: see above

Tippett: work on his speed, so he can lead quicker and not just rely on 1 on 1 contests

McKernan: speed and endurance

Otten: continue to strenghten his knee and add some pace

Johncock: Stay just the way he is!

The rest of them basically just have to add muscle.
OH! And kicking, kicking and then perhaps some more kicking!

Will be salivating over every news report that comes out telling us that so and so has posted a PB in some area or another. :)

I used to work at Next Gen as a poolie and the boys would come in to do their off/pre-season weights and swimming and you'd often also get a group in on a Sunday morning after a game the day before.
Please don't take this the wrong way but: VB had the most impressive kit of the lot. His core is amazing. His muscles have muscles. He may not be huge but he'd be quite strong through the core.

The pre season training reports won't be the same without Sellar. Every year I got excited reading the reports thinking this will be the year, this will be the breakout. Oh well I guess I have a great replacement in McKernan.

Looking forward to reports from Allefgib, -cg-, XztatiK, tlf8 and photos from dogga and -cg-.

Looking forward to reports from ANYONE!

and, of course, -cg-.

Stabby's rambles are good too :)

Happen to see any pics and hear any reports.

Also, VB has a ripper rig. I'd have him working on the twitch muscle stuff that will increase his burst ability etc. Get him in close.

I'm pretty sure I have next Thursday off, if so, I will do my best to make it. :)

you're an gentleman, scholar and a king among men

Must say there was a few games last year where we lost and I just couldbn't give a shit while watching.....very new feeling. I think the players, and supporters, need inspiration.

Amen to that Wall-e! I would have struggled to keep the same passion for the team if Craig had stayed. But with the way we have gone about TW, new coaches etc., I'm very excited! Pity I'll only get to one training session for the Summer.:(

Apparently you live at Footy Park. Can't you just look out the window or something?:p

Is there a calender somewhere of where & when the sessions are being held?

I would have to agree with you. When i said bulk up, I didnt necessarily mean muscle. He may actually need to put on a bit of fat. Maybe get him into the pasta. Looks like he needs some more padding/weight on him, so he can take the bumps.
