I heard didak is injured too and won't get up. Out: Dawes, didak. In: Paine, Sinclair/Clarke- depending on tagging matchup... Do u put Marty on ROK orsinclair on malceski?

Jolly tweaked his groin at the end of the match. If he isn't fully fit he shouldn't play.

Out Dawes & Jolly
In Wood( to ruck almost all game) and maybe Sinclair?

There is no way we can beat Haw in the GF with out Jolly being fully fit and rested. Throw all caution to the wind this week and risk not making the GF. Better than going in with Jolly underdone and unable to jump and run like last year.

I realise I'll be on my own in this opinion.

Out: Dawes (inj).
In: Wood

Would not go anywhere near Wood. No player is a worse pressure player forward of centre and he is not a marking presence or a goal kicking threat. Provides zero tackling pressure and through the ruck is also below average. It's a waste of a player.

Out: Dawes (inj)
In: Paine - keep it simple. The guy competes, can take a mark up forward, tackles and can kick goals. Good learning experience for the guy against a well drilled side and is our best replacement given the circumstances. Sure he won't be able to ruck and doesn't have the endurance of Dawes but otherwise he is as good if not better in other aspects of his game. *Leaving Goldsack/Maxwell to be backup ruckmen. Jolly loves the responsibility so he just needs to work hard in his recovery to make sure he's fresh.

Possible out: Didak (inj?) - need more details.
Possible in: Sinclair is the likely replacement.

I am looking to head to Sydney this week for the game and just have a few questions regarding ticketing that I was hoping you guys could help me with.

I have 4 full AFL memberships with collingwood club support, how does ticketing work? (is there like an AFL reserve I can book tickets in? Or will I have to book through club members?) Also, what are the chances of not getting a ticket etc? (Also does anyone know the prices?)

Thanks in advance

Can't help you there 1992, but does anybody know if you can elect where you can sit in each ticket category?
E.g. choosing to sit behind the goals in the bronze section?

Thanks.

Jolly may have tweaked his groin but they'll just let him fully recover this week and do light laps. He'll play 100%.

If Didak is cooked then Sinclair will come back in.

If Dawes is completely gone, they'll bring in Paine as the 2nd forward and pinch-hit Goldsack in the ruck.

We have a functional, tight-knit squad right now and there's no need to stuff it around.

Wood to ruck almost all the game?

haha mummy would be licking his lips at this thought

He was probably BOG at half time. Wow, drop him after that you may as well drop 3/4 of the team. He broke open the play in the first half when the game was totally congested.
Was baffled he was subbed, only reasons I could think of;

1) Injury risk in this game
2) Gamble on us winning so the short week doesn't catch him out
3) More forward defense needed in the last

I'll have to watch the first half again, but from what I remember he missed some very easy targets by foot, looked slow and was a liability when it came to the contested/tackling side of the game.

I understand he is the type of player that can win a game off his own boot, but going off the past few weeks I think that might have passed him..

Hey mate, I've been on with AFL membership on Twitter and email all morning, we get no discount rites next week, but we do get the option to buy tickets on Monday Morning at 9am as part of the club member allocation.

I'm guessing we just used our barcodes like usual on Ticetek (who I'm pretty sure look after ANZ stadium now);

Here's a price guide;

By the way I've been told the Collingwood area will be sections 120-123, as you can see on this map;

That's all I've got.:)

What about:

Out: Dawes, Elliot - In: Wood, Paine

Leave Wood in the goal square when he isn't giving Jolly a chop out. We've seen him take a few decent grabs down there and even if he doesn't he will surely bring it to ground, which is where Krak and Fasolo do there bit. Paine, Cloke and Wood will probably force LRT back to defense... Who else have they got?

Depending how Dawes comes up, seems doubtful at this stage, but the only player that could come in is Wood. No way would a Ceglar or Witts be looked at to come into a final.

If Did's dosen't come up Sinclair would come in.

Ins: Wood, Sinclair
Out: Dawes, Didak (both inj) - hopefully not
If the injuries are severe enough to have them miss this will be the way to go with a view to sub off Wood after he rucks solo for the 1st 5 minutes of the last quarter. Jolly will have to battle for the remainder of the game.

Get some stats and check the height/ weight diff. Vs Mumford and Pike

193 cm and 94kg.. So he is the same height as Dawes with similar ground ball ability. Better marking prowess, and as for strength i'd give Tarrant the nod over Dawes even though Dawes weighs 105kgs.. He doesn't use his bulk too well.

Pyke and Mumford are both taller and bigger.. (100kg +) but as whether or not we lose anything with Dawes i'm not so sure...

Also Maxwell is 193cm and 93kg so i think its the best like for like we have. Will be doing alot of third man up.

thanks for that!!

Have to bring in a 2nd ruck I think, Jolly would be a write off the following week and with Maxy out he wouldn't get much of a chop out.

Pretty certain Wood will be one of the ins as well as Sinclair who would hopefully provide a negating role on either Mattner or Shaw.

Personally I would like to see Wood play mostly in the ruck, whilst clearly not the most talented player on our list he is listed as 204cm/107kg and can at least provide a contest against Mumford and Pyke, meanwhile I'd like to see Jolly up forward as much as possible, with Trav down there it should really test the swans talls, Unfortunately when Wood needs a rest he doesn't seem to offer that much anywhere else on the ground but I think its a risk worth taking.

I hope you don't mind me asking but i heard a few weeks ago one of the commentators on one of the AFL panel shows mention that Jolly these days is having a hard time playing good games when the previous week or two he had a really hard game (as he needs a bit of a rest every 2 or 3 weeks). Is this accurate or is the commentator talking out of his arse?

Maybe if we are up by 5 goals in the last quarter.

That's the upside of Wood though, he gives Jolly a decent rest in the ruck and I agree, I can't see Jolly being at his best this week or next week after playing as sole ruck against Essendon and then only having a part timer to help out against Hawthorn and West Coast if he is forced to ruck 90% of the game.

I don't like Wood, bust he's the only option imo. Witts definitely isn't ready, Paine can't play ruck and I wouldn't be against pulling the trigger on Ceglar but its unlikely at best.

He has been eased along this season (and last one too I recall), for this reason.

But he can rest in 2 weeks time.

I am hoping that McGlynn's hamstring will keep him out as he is a key player for the swans. I think our backs will hold their forwards and if our mids play the same way as last night, maybe we can afford to go in with one ruck?

I think Wood is a cert, he's been written off afaik (as in he'll be gone next season) but we have no other options. He and Jolly rotate through the ruck/fp. Jolly is no slouch up there and use masses of height to pressure Sydney's defence.
