Corrected for accuracy Rooster.:D

Cheers AM. Never claimed that grammar was my strong suit. I am from an ACC school after all.

And yes BB it seems there may be some truth to this. My overly emphatic denial was based on the said player giving a solemn promise to remain however that did not happen. In any event my refuting the claim may have been a tad premature. Don’t believe it is 3 players as suggested but 1 has gone for very good coin. Great shame but won’t be the last time a young ammo gun is lured away for obscene $ to play in a suburban comp. Would not mind so much if he were leaving to play at a higher level such as VFL. Could even cop EFL Div 1 but for a kid in his prime to play Div 2 seems a shame IMO. That’s life and I’m sure we can find an able replacement.

We do have a couple of good youngsters training with some VFL clubs as I suspect many A & B clubs would have also.

Nothing wrong with your writing Rooster. Just a bit of fun.

Some of the rumoured financial inducements are extraordinary and we’re a long way from the serious part of season 2012.

It’s not only the country comps or the wealthy metro clubs who are offering good coin either. Even struggling clubs in lesser comps like the SFL are out there offering inducements. It’s a real concern. Especially to clubs who aren’t playing in the top echelon.

Thought he had a full time assitants role at St.Kilda? You would expect that would be a fairly demanding role that would not leave much free time, particuarly if he is travelling down to Seaford 4 times a week.

Agree Seriously stupid rumor. Why would he do such a thing? At least a 2 hour road trip.

any other news? Heard the fields are courting some players who've recently gone down to B grade!!

Not sure that it's a stupid rumour. Steven King helped out down at Collegians last season and he was also a full time assistant coach at St. Kilda. He was very restricted in his time and was not able to make it to most games, but still helped out when he could.

Hope it's worth every cent when he get's the living suitcases knocked out him after about 4 rounds.

Shame to see him go, did enjoying watching his line breaking play last season.

So the rest of us can understand the code you guys are talking in, could you please elaborate as to the player/s from De La who has moved on?

Any other movements around the clubs? It is ok to mention names given that pre season starts for most clubs this week or next!!

I wonder will the VAFA be represented by Collegians in next year's pre-season Boags Lightning Premiership featuring the teams that won the premiership in the various comps at metro & country levels around Victoria?
Collegians aren't playing as they weren't interested.

Emphatic denials can be a trap this time of year RR, unfortunately I have been burnt many times myself over the years.

I have noticed the word obscene being bandied around numerous times in reference to this player, if he wanted obscene money he would have got far more from numerous other sources. I think you will find it's a group of guys wanting to have a kick together at a suitable club for all to play in the 1 senior side. More to it than just a money grab.

The original rumour post is on the mark in regards to numbers moving on.

Agree about the emphatic denials BB. Rookie error by someone who should know better. Had good reason to be bullish about my response but now wiping egg from face. Not remotely is this about “group of guys wanting to have a kick together etc etc. It’s a money grab pure and simple. While I agree that he could have hawked himself around for more I still reckon that what is being offered is “obscene” for EFL Div 2. I just wonder how some of the stalwarts at this club feel about it? Particularly as it is unlikely he will be there in the long-term.

And still a few twists and turns to go here. Only one player confirmed is my mail with the others seriously reconsidering. The other party to this an EFL player from a Div 1 club who apparently led the charge and if the stories are true did the recruiting on behalf of Donny. Believe he went to school at De La but never played there.

Anyway good luck to them all. No intention to vilify the player(s) in question. Players come and go and it just gives someone else an opportunity.

Understand one of the players is heading back to the EFL and another to the SANFL

can anyone confirm is peter summers has signed for uni blues?

Given clubs can't lodge clearance requests until Feb 2012, and Amateur clubs can't pay players, therefore rendering contracts useless, what exactly would he be signing in November?

BTW - Rambo will be playing in 2012 as far am I'm aware.

He would sign the permit application form which would then be submitted by the club to the VAFA on 1/2/2012.
Contracts useless in VAFA, not sure about that. It is perhaps possible to prepare a contract with a nil monetary value but listing other benefits a club may be able to offer.
