Footy Gods, was interstate for the Parkdale game so can't comment, but well done to the Vultures on what was obviously a very good win. Saw the Fitzroy & Werribee games in which SKOB had solid if unspectacular wins & one thing IMO appeared to stand out. Fitzroy spent the game trying not to lose but Werribee tried everything in their power to win. You may think 'what's the difference' but the intent was pretty clear I thought. Caulfield has some wins on the board which I predicted & more will come, Brighton very good at home & Old Haileybury a bit of a Jeckyl & Hyde team. Results suggest Trinity are flag favourites, Ajax have improved dramatically on last year & OM's are a bit inconsistent, but I'll be in a better position to comment once we've played them. As far as SKOB is concerned, a slower start to the season than the last few years in all grades, but a lot of quality has yet to kick a ball in anger, so a later peak may be in store this year. Only time will tell.

Sorry Keano but Liddell should have retired after the GF against St Bernards.
He actually looked embarrassed coming off the ground after his effort.

It was probably shock.

As for retiring he deserved more than anyone at CGFC to play in A Grade. Not many stick with a club from E Grade all the way up, because most aren't good enough.

He isn't anywhere near his old standard but I think you'll find he isn't playing for his own benefit.

Also great game at Bricker. Excellent surface and venue. OM fast start but pegged back with outstanding efforts from Meehan and Ridgeway. OH 10 points up at 3/4 . OM hit the front in the last but OH skipped clear by 10 again with about 5 to go. Last 3 goals to OMs saw them home with Armstrong getting 4 in the last quarter. Hard to split top 6 sides at the moment. Huge game at the Junction next week between SKOB and OMs.

Great game at Sportscover between OB and Caulfield yesterday. Caulfield play 3 good quarters however a few injuries caught up with them. Wood and Parsons go well however OB to strong in the end with TM kicking 8. Top 6 sides evenly matched however with Werribee next week hopefully OB will lock in a top 4 spot for a few weeks.

Great day of football at TH King last Saturday. Perfect climatic conditions, a packed lunch & bowling green of a surface probably made OT feel like they were playing on their home deck & for 2 1/2 quarters it looked like that was the case. OT very slick with hand & foot & as a previous poster mentioned, they played like a team that didn't want to be in Premier B for long. OT blew the lead out to 43 points with SKOB pretty poor until this point due to OT pressure, but used up a lot of gas in the process & SKOB's persistence clawed that back to 19 by 3/4 time. Last stanza was a belter with 3-4 lead changes late in the piece & a goal with approx. 30 sec remaining on the clock gave SKOB a 1 point win. Observation about OT is that they will give you a chance late in games due to their style of football which will allow teams to score quickly & heavily as OT tire. Caulfield piled on the goals late last week & SKOB kicked 10 of the last 13 on Sat. OT will continue to tear up teams in the bottom half as they simply have more talent, but teams around them have renewed hope that they are beatable if you hang around long enough. Their depth will be tested June/July if injuries begin to bite as their reserves were surprisingly poor. Congrats to the SKOB committee on their work on the TH King redevelopment. The surface would now be the envy of all bar OT, OM & Marc & the new clubrooms will be spectacular, judging by the artists impressions & sheer size of the footprint already laid. Kudos to the OT players who stuck around for a beer as well.

Interesting to see that Old Trinity has taken to Twitter to try and dob in a SKOB player for a sling tackle - doesnt appear much in it to me.

Typical Trinity sooks.

FOOTY KARMA TRINITY.

Footy Karma indeed. Wasnt it SKOBS that dobbed on Hadfield (OT) for doing a Hopoate?
For what it's worth I thought that it was Scotch and they enjoyed it! B Section is certainly an open affair a bit like the lush surroundings of Princes Park, no wonder AJAX put up a fight for that ground. Only question is why did OH take that annoying siren with them??? Tipping they would have liked it to be blown 5 mins earlier on Saturday with OMs coming from clouds. Armstrong and Nixon playing very well. OH v OT and SKOB v OMs are huge!

FOOTY KARMA TRINITY.

Footage shows it was a raised elbow well after the play that left the bloke in hospital. Let's see how that karma goes at the tribunal.

Which Quarter there, what minute mark?

Q1, 7:49. The skevs player dishes off a handlball. You see the trinity player try and make a tackle, roll over and get up. Pause at 7:51, you see the trinity player on the ground about to get up, and the skevs player facing him. At 7:52, the skevs player turns and goes at him with the raised elbow - the two players at the very left of the frame.

It's a pity that it doesn't show the actual contact but it clearly shows him being lined up. I don't think action was taken over it.

Hospital, stitches, couldn't play this week due to concussion.
For what it's worth I noticed a trinity player got 3 weeks for striking in that game, obviously a bit of feeling in that one, especially if buddy23 makes his debut appearance to dob someone in, classy....any update on when the make ups will be? Caulfield threw one away today and with fitzroy winning it was a double blow.

I was at Caulfield.Ground was in great condition, considering the rain..The exAjax coach,Tim,had the young Grammarians up and running and had 4 goals on before Ajax blinked. From there it was 18 goals to 4.
I do not think Caulfield" threw one away".
They are young ,fast and keen and will win games if opponents take them for granted.

Old Trinity home game v Old Haileybury cancelled.
St Kevins not playing against Old Melbourne
The only two matches we cared about this week, the two blockbusters cancelled.
This week was supposed to answer our questions, but instead we have learnt nothing.

Rnd18 Top 4, Trinity, AJAX, OB, StKevs.
Trinity are just polished in all sections of the ground, they still have that touch of A grade that most clubs lose when dropping down a section. Really impressive and Top spot you'd think.
AJAX were supreme and covered the wet ground like speed boats against Caulfield, very very quick and link up as good as any team in the VAFA. But stop Fayman, and i think your more than half way to stopping them. OB's forwards keep posting massive bags between them, sharing the load around, with their 4th key forward averaging 2.5goals a game, and as a four averaging just under 15goals a game between them, how do you stop that, Any team have 4 solid backmen?
StKevins, this teams midfield are just super, can win games just through the middle. Im a massive supporter and think they are ticking along rather nicely now. They play AJAX next game, this will be the quickest game of the year. Looking forward to getting down to T H King Oval to view.
