PEGS had young CHF Khallouf out injured 6 ft 2. Skurrie FF out 6ft 4 out. Forrest previous competition leading goal kicker and 6 ft 2 out overseas, Flaherty working in WA indefinitely 6 ft 3 out. They had serious tall talent out. Skurrie, Flaherty, Forrest 3 200 plus gamers there out. Might explain lack of height. Thought the young kids, 15 of which were under 23 had a real crack. PEGS have also lost Livori multiple best on ground state player to work interstate and lost their best and fairest winner and captain on baller Josh Pound this year. Flaherty won't be back either due to work, played earlier games this year. Clubs lose players, however very hard to cover those losses. Having said that they pushed Therry, very unlucky against OH. Still to play Willy, Camberwell, Oakleigh, Marcellin.
I'm sure every club has a list of lost players that are notable, the real challenge is re-generating and continuing to challenge each year. Looks like PEGS might be making a little trip back to D1 to sort themselves out.

The ladder has the four top- teams equal on 4 wins and 1 loss. Out of those 4, who appears to have the best defence, mids and forwards?

Monash have had the best bigs I've seen so far. I was very surprised last week how young OH were, not the biggest team I've seen either, except #26 from memory who is a beast!

On PEGS, could we see Dustin Fletcher making an appearance next year?

In reality from what I have seen there aren't too many "real" bigs in C Grade this year. There are plenty of tall players, but most don't have the Kg's to be considered "big" other than Campbell and Bruno.

PS

What is the go with Peninsula scoring 8.4 goals in last 13 minutes of Quarter 1, against OC on weekend.

PPS

Try losing both Heta boys a month before the start of the season.

Doubt it scribe. Good contribution though..

Replaced them though, with couple of handy walk ups of the street!!

OH in a toss of the coin. Will Voss play?
Marc too strong
Oak again in a close one. Lose for PEGS will see it hard to get them out of the slump that they are currently in.
OI. Game of the round.
MB to be too quick, slick and strong.

Much better tipping performance last week, but then again everyone else did well as well. Mmmm. So for tomorrow:

Williamstown vs Old Haileybury
Marcellin
vs Therry Penola
PEGS vs Oakleigh
Peninsula vs Old Ivanhoe
Old Camberwell vs Monash Blues

Doubt it scribe. Good contribution though..

Duck, talking to an long time Ammo mate (still involved but at A grade level) who says that the club are in shambles at the minute. Not sure where he would get his information from, but is this case? Definitely lacking talent at the minute but they looked fairly organised from what I could see from watching a half of footy.
What's the feeling like down there, is it doom and gloom? Any light at the end of the tunnel?

OH- Just too strong.
Marcellin- will be close.
PEGS- Get a couple back this week. Still have 3 keys to come back. Need the win! Tipping with the heart.
Peninsula- Should be a rippa game. Huge home ground advantage, doubt OI would have played their. Pirates early season form very impressive.
Monash- Should be too strong.

Club is going ok. Twos are the heartbeat of any club and sitting second on the ladder I think. Vibe around the place is still very upbeat. Some very good leaders at the club and few wise heads that have played over 200 games. Just need to hang in there, keep getting games into the young fellas, get the first win and try and get some momentum. Long term future lies with improving the alliance with the school team. This has to be addressed. Still a very good vibe around the place, 40 plus on the track, blokes enjoying their footy and playing in the best local football competition in vic.

A third or the year is over and it appears a race in 4. Monash, Marc, OI and Penn.

Monash have played 2 of the other 3 and are 1 and 1, with their loss in round one to OI with 50 players at a wedding.
Marc have only played 1 of the other 3 and were comprehensively beaten by Monash. All 50 players were back from the wedding that day.
OI are 2 for 2 accounting for both teams easily, but were beaten by OH due to OH playing well and OI not kicking straight.
Penn have still 2 to play, but have lost to Oak and OI. The next 3 weeks will determine Penn's year. Fell away last year.

OH and Oak are still in with a chance, especially if Penn slip up in the next 3 weeks.

Therry will rely heavily on the Bannisters and their captain to ensure another stay in C or even push for a finals position.

Willy will need to beat a to 6 team to ensure no bounce back to D1.

PEGS and OC have the writing on the wall, but 5 wins out of the next 12 will back things interesting.

Marc are my favourites will their desire not to repeat another straight sets, and their spread of goal kickers makes them difficult to shut down.

Monash and OI will rely heavily on their younger players to maintain the standards they have set YTD to give them a chance of promotion.

Marc/OI Grand Final

Agree OI deserve favouritism at this stage. Not sure about Marcellin.

Looks like there's no point PEGS playing this week, according to the Old Camberwell President this week is a foregone conclusion. PEGS must be really bad.

Round 6 Review
Two out of Three
Ressies & Unders Win
Great wins to the Ressies and Unders - that's 2 in a row now for the U19s. Seniors still in the running for their first big win which should be this week vs PEGS at home.

The lunch is on this week and it would be great to see plenty of support the players as well as see some old faces down at the 'Banyard.
