Great day at the Frearson. Big crowd at a terrific lunch for the 1000th game and a spanking win. Petering good and could have kicked 10. Big Rosetti dominated the ruck which is impressive for an 18 year old and Andy young played a great 100th. Outstanding day!

Max, what is going on at OI? A little birdy tells me another suspension last night at the tribunal. That's 3 players out in 3 weeks?? Couldn't be pleased with that??

Better than last year. Never happy when losing a player to suspension.
VAFA need to look at the rule for an extra week in contesting a charge. Player thought the striking charge was worth challenging, as the umpire didn't report or pay a free kick. Gets to the tribunal, the opposition player did the OI player no favour (not complaining as the player certainly felt the OI players actions were excessive). A simple charge turned into a three week holiday, adding to the two week break, makes it a 5 week penalty. Interesting to see whether the player witness misses a week as he claims in his evidence.

Previous suspension was for a front on contact. Nothing malice, just poor timing.

Video evidence from VAFATV is removing any doubt from most reports.

Was at Pine Lodge for the post game today. Condolences to Old Ivanhoe on account of Snapper Haug. 430 games for the one Club. That's amazing, and I trust the Ammos will celebrate his contribution to Old Ivanhoe and the VAFA after the bye.

Great game today, and those two teams will put on quite a show should they be called upon to play one another in finals.

Okay, I'll restart this thread after our long break:

Round 12.
Williamstown vs Therry Penola
Monash Blues vs Old Camberwell
Marcellin vs Oakleigh
Peninsula vs PEGS
Old Haileybury vs Old Ivanhoe

Ran into the PEGS coach at a coffee shop in North Melbourne this morning - good bloke ole Muzza. Nearly choked on my skinny cap when he told me they beat Peninsula at Peninsula!! He did say he thought they got Peninsula at a good time, as they had a few prime movers out, but still to go down there and win is a great effort for a team sitting winless.
Big Duck, he said they are still getting 70 odd to training. Is this right?
Good luck to them, hope they get a few more wins before the year is out.

Still not out of it to stay up. (yes I'm serious)

But in my humble opinion Therry look most likely to make the drop with either PEGS or OC.

PS

Thank God we got some early wins.

Unfortunately a couple of key OC players will be missing in the next few weeks. One overseas for the rest of the season and the other to VFL coaching duties for 3 games including Therry.

Relegation battle will go down to the wire I suspect.
