Back in the 80s and 90s when I used to watch a lot of AFL and would never miss the grand final but was in a rugby league state and household so never understood the traditions etc.

Back in those days they used to bring giant guernseys onto the field during the grand final pre-game entertainment. What were they for? I am assuming it was retiring players, but was never sure. Also curious why they stopped playing Waltzing Matilda before the grand final - used to be a bit of a tradition from memory.

They could employ me to do that role! LOLOLOL!

Our last game against the Bulldogs is listed at 12 A.M.

Now, is it just me, or do they really mean 12 P.M?

I've always written midnight as 12 A.M and mid-day as 12 P.M...have I been doing it wrong, or the author of the fixture wrong?

It's an arbitrary time. The draw for the final round happens later in the season to maximise the "excitement" of the final round and pacify the broadcasters.

You've got it right. But I've always thought it was weird that it switched from AM to PM at 12 noon rather than at 1. That's why when given a choice I'll always opt for 24 hour time. Less ambiguous.

Good thing is the game won't be in either of those lousy time slots as it's just a default time as the schedule for the last round doesn't get decided until after the penultimate round.

One pendlebury down at the club, and one to go.

It would have been less confusing if they just put TBA.
Absolutely. But I suspect that the field they use to enter the time only allows numerals so the arbitrary one is entered. I doubt they care if they are causing confusion.
