Wow, there are some posters here who don't much like Hawthorn!

I pay for a family of 5. All my kids are adults and only get to 5 or 6 games each year, but I want them to belong to the greatest sports club in the world.

And to see some premierships!

;)

All memberships are a waste if you live interstate. I'm essentially paying nearly $500 for one guaranteed ticket and a few trinkets with the logo on it.
Exactly, not sure what to do then
I buy a membership every year, and I couldn't care less if I don't get value for money
Due to work/family I only get to 3 or so games a year
26 consecutive years and counting
I'm in WA & see my membership as more of a donation than anything.

I was lucky in 2015 & saw 3 games in about 7 weeks, but the only 2016 game I saw was when I flew to Adelaide to watch us defeat Port.

As Sav has posted - there's no value for money in supporting a team from interstate, but then that's not why we're members, is it?

If I lived interstate, I'd move to Melbourne and watch Hawthorn games live at the MCG.

And also enjoy the great Melbourne weather.

Great Melbourne weather?

That's akin to driving back home to enjoy the 'great Perth coffee'...

We get nice weather. It's just sandwiched between "oh god why" and "what the ****"

You do remember the 2015 Grand Final?
A Western Australian team came over and were overwhelmed on a nice warm, sunny Melbourne Spring day.

Not used to 32C temperatures in Perth?

I love Melbourne weather. Actual seasons, relatively no humidity (when Melbourne people say it is muggy it's really quite quaint), the odd bit of rain but nothing too dramatic (last year was a bit damper than usual) and cold weather that isn't completely inescapable (come at me Melbournians when you've survived a Canberra wind chill that can cut through multiple layers of clothing). I also enjoy the 2-3 days during summer where you get a little return to autumn/winter conditions just to change things up.

The Melbourne weather trope is a bit overdone really*.

*I am free to completely reverse this opinion without hypocrisy should I ever have to work in the barron, wind-swept, icy cold wasteland that is Docklands ever again.

Can anyone give me the link to the article where the coaches voted Cyril 2nd most influential players in the game. I think Danger was first and Buddy second also. Cheers

This was the 2016 Coaches player of the year Awards at the end of the H&A. Has there been a recent poll?

AFLCA PLAYER OF THE YEAR TOP FIVE:
1. Patrick Dangerfield (Geelong) 121
2. Rory Sloane (Adelaide) 93
3. Dustin Martin (Richmond) 90
4. Marcus Bontempelli (Western Bulldogs) 88
5. Luke Parker (Sydney Swans) 86; Joel Selwood (Geelong) 86.

Na wasn't an award as such. It was a coaches poll, basically asking who they thought was the best in the game.

1 danger
2 buddy and Cyril

I wanted to show a friend but can't seem to locate it, shoulda taken screenshot

i just get a box of lots of letters etc how do i put that into my calender??
HH,

Want to save the fixture to your calendar? Click here! click on the golden finger on the left and a small file called 'basic.ics' will be downloaded to your computer/phone/tablet. Open your usual calendar program, select 'Import' or 'Import Calendar' and follow the steps to select the file you downloaded. Once you save the process it should import the calendar and the fixture should appear in your calendar - magic! ;)

Fellow Hawks,

I come to you with a question from my wife. Her knowledge of football is fairly poor, on par with a Swans supporter, but i need to clear this up.

She wants to know why all AFL footballers apparently wax their body hair.

It's all I ****ing hear about during a game:

"Not a hair on him"
"Or him"
"Why do they all shave?"
"Does each club have a waxxer?"
"Do they go back, sack and crack?" (cue maniacal laughter)

Please, for the love of all that's holy help a brother out.

Aerodynamics.

It's because of all the taping that gets done - can't imagine how painful it would be if body hair was being ripped off after every game.

It's also just about looking good - men care just as much about there appearances these day as women do

Certainly makes life easier wherever they have to tape up
