we’re watching a game where our kids have had a billion forward entries and kicked the ball like drunk toddlers and Marshall is somehow being singled out as the problem.

If I’m calling out moronic dumb attacks on Marshall a great deal, it’s cause there is a great deal of moronic attacks on Marshall.

I think the comments on Marshall have a little to do with tonight's game and a lot to do with all the other games. I hope as much as anyone that he lives up to what his potential is, but he hasn't yet. Maybe its our game plan... It's almost certainly our game plan ... But that's the shite game plan we're stuck with and have been for years.

If you kick a goal, the ball goes back to a 50/50 in the middle of the park. Much easier for the opposition to kick a goal from there. This is the least optimum result.

If you kick a point, the ball is still deep in your forward 50, there's a good opporunity to lock the ball in. This is slightly better.

If it goes over for a throw in, then its a stoppage deep in our forward 50. Thats really good for stopping the opposition from scoring.

Just like our forwards always trail to the ball. Its the best position to spoil the mark.
