Preview R14: Changes vs. Sydney Swans

Yep, all we need to do is win at least 8 of our last 10 games which include:
Sydney twice
Brisbane at the Gabba
Geelong at GMHBA (where we haven’t won since 2003)
Our bogey team GWS
Our other bogey teams, Essendon (away) and Hawthorn

Simples… 🤪

At least it won't take much longer before we're a mathematical impossibility.

For those who are saying Curtin and Ryan should play watch the sanfl replay. Curtin was mcasey like in performance. Ryan was very quiet.

Murray Taylor maybe Pedlar and ROB due to Strauchnie injury are ins
Because Curtin is not a KPD....

Stick him on the wing, midfield apprenticeship, watch him flourish...

I would be surprised if we won 8 games for the year, nevermind 8 from the next 10. :D

Agreed Curtin was pretty rubbish, but maybe just one of those players that flourishes in the big time. Can't imagine our development in the SANFL is doing him any favours....
He is not used to the rubbish umpiring from the SANFL. It must make players feel like they cannot touch another player or go hard for the footy, as you will get a free against you for the slightest thing that resembles a free, and nothing the other way around. Curtin seems to have the talent, but needs the confidence. The SANFL is not a good place for him to grow confidence. Subbing him off in the AFL is not going to help him either. Imagine if Strachan was not injured in the last game. Nicks probably would have subbed Dowling instead, denying him his first AFL goal and his confidence.

Season is shot, nothing to lose playing him in the AFL. And not as a KPD.

HB or Wing.

In: Rankine, Murray, Cook? Pedlar, Curtin, Taylor, Edwards.......ROB - get your eyes sorted out lad.
Out: Strachaun(inj) McHenry, Burgess, Keays, Murphy, Smith, Schoenberg.

On what Earth do we play Nick Murray 2 games in the SANFL?
Does Rankine now come back through the 2's?

We wouldn't know the way forward even if the light at the end of the tunnel was turned on!

How often do we play two paper weights in a mid setup? and why would you?
My preferred mid rotations (C,RR,R) - (at 6, 4 & 10)

Berry, Dawson, Rankine.
Jones, Dowling, Rachele.
Hinge, Michalanney, Soligo.
Pedlar, Curtin, Laird.

Just a slight difference between a 2-3 week hamstring and an ACL.

Are you serious?

Murray hadn't played a match for since July last year
I am, we are a shit side playing useless campaigners all over the ground. So how many more before he gets named in the team?
Start him and sub him if he's not fit enough. So it's let's play the useless campaigners instead and keep losing. It's working a treat at the moment.

Pointless continuing this discussion if you don't get why he's had a couple of SANFL games to get up to match fitness, I've got better things to do like watch the U18's Nationals.

I reckon it will be:

Ins: N Murray, Rankine, Walker, Cook, O'Brien

Out: Smith, Dowling, Burgess, Schoenberg, Strachan

F: Cook Fogarty Rachele
HF: Rankine Walker Keays
C: Jones Dawson Sholl
HB: Michalanney N Murray Hinge
B: Keane Butts Hamill
1R: O'Brien Laird Soligo
INT: Berry Borlase Murphy Nankervis

Swap Murphy for Dowling and it’s probably our best available side ATM.

Id love Curtin to come in for Jones and Pedlar for Berry as well.

I need dowling in for his value to go up in supercoach. Surely you can't drop a player after 1 week. Seemed pretty good to me first game. Borlase or Butts will be dropped with Murray coming back. Once Worrell is fit i doubt Borlase or Butts are in the team as Keane and Murray are first choice KPD's. Hamill, Sholl, Murphy should be playing sanfl. Nank is a better wing than Sholl and Dowling is far superior to Murphy. I would rather Schoenberg in over Berry.

Team I would like to see

Michalanney Keane Butts
Jones NMurray Hinge
Nankervis Soligo Curtin
Rachele Walker Pedlar
Cook Fogarty TMurray

ROB Dawson Rankine

Dowling Schoenberg Keays Edwards

Out
Berry Strachan Burgess Murphy Sholl Smith McHenry Hamill Borlase Laird

The list of required changes gets longer and longer each week as we refuse to make any sort of progress towards a sensible best 22

Out: Strachan (injured), Smith, Hamill, Borlase, Burgess, Laird, Jones, Berry, Murphy, McHenry (sub)

In: Curtin*, N. Murray, Walker, T. Murray, Rankine, Cook, Pedlar, Taylor, O'Brien**, Jones (sub)

*I don't care how shit he was in the SANFL

R O'Brien - Dawson - Rankine
C Sholl - Soligo - Dowling

HF Schoenberg - Fogarty - Rachele
F Pedlar - Walker - Cook

I Taylor - T. Murray - Curtin - Keays
