One of very few success stories this season.

I thought the concussions had completely ruined him. Was disappointed when he was first recalled.

Then he did alright. Well done selectors. Hats off.

Then we inexplicably dropped him, because deep down we're idiots. We even manage to **** up the things we get right.

Now he's back in and looking decent. Starting to look like the pre-concussion player. Timely with Milera out and Smith dropping off.
It's almost like we should use half back to get our young guys into the games and get them the experience they need to blossom.

However we seem to be addicted to playing the young guys in football siberia, alone on the half forward flank where the ball isn't.

Yeah, the results show that the players are clearly playing for Nicks... what was I thinking...

I don't listen to Graham Cornes as he is senile.
He was on the radio yesterday talking about injuries and how badly they impact a team and talked about Collingwood won't make the 8 because of it.... While they sit 3rd on the ladder and a couple % points off 2nd.

Mutineer I know you love a thumbs down (apparently that's allowed on this board, good to know).. but what part do you disagree with?

Yes, yes it's another classic BC rant but I don't see what's factually incorrect? Haven't you yourself stated the need for two new rucks? (which is also true)
No I haven't, the only one that is truly not AFL level is Strachan just does not have the strength or endurance to be competitive for 4 quarters and at 28 that ain't happening at this late stage in his career.

If we can get an upgrade on ROB all well and good but that won't be as simple as some on here think. ROB is adequate and it all depends what importance you put on ruckmen, plenty of Grand Finalists have won Premierships with adequate rucks. Until then ROB should play to at least give our mids a fighting chance.

You chuckle-heads can rant and rave all you want.

The patch where we lost was the Papley sliding duck that resulted in a free.... then the bs free which caused Hinge to snap and the resulting goal is where we lost it.

After those moments nothing that happened was work a squeak of piss to analyse.

1st half there was a lot to like. After that snafu nothing actually mattered.

Yep, nothing is on us, nothing we can do.

It was also Rowe ....but you probably didn't listen

How's Murphy going on the Wing Kane 🤣

.... In addition, I forgot to post... we gave up 3 goals in the 5 mins Nankervis was off the ground when we lost momentum.

He is going to be important for us going forward.
Nankervis really has been a success story .....he does look a classy player & quick instinctive thinker

Yep, I don't listen to either.

Murphy is back up forward WW... doing buggar all!

Now if you weren't so secret squirrel I would be able to search your posts, I swear I read something yesterday where you said we need two new ruckmen.

Anyways I'm too boomer to search so maybe it was someone else and I don't really care enough to try

I think we do need a complete change in ruck.

I really enjoy the search function. Brings up some absolute gems.

There’s just absolutely no doubt that Slippery Pete is the smartest, most prophetic poster on this whole forum. All bow to Slippery Pete. I aspire to be more like him, and btw @Samcro24 sucks balls.

2 As in a replacement for Strachan as a developed ruck and a young developing ruck through the draft. Perhaps athletic aerialist GWV Rebel's/Vic Country Ruck/Forward Floyd Burmeister could be a rookie/late pick option in the upcoming drafy, unlimited upside.

Seen here rucking against SA's Alex Dodson who is being talked up as a 1st round possibility..

You’ve been talking up the need to draft a developing ruckman for around 5 years I reckon, so yeah it is simple, have a competent recruiter draft a decent ruck prospect

Watching the game again and Laird had a better game than I gave him credit for. A couple of poor dump kicks out of D50, but otherwise looked miles better playing at HB than he has in the midfield all year. Intercepted well and largely had tidy disposal to setup our better kickers, which was his strength in the AA years. We are a better team with him there and MM in the midfield.

Hinge and Hamill both had good games too, it’s nice having two left footers back there that have a bit of pace and good kicks.

Fog was good at providing a marking option between the arcs and his contested marking was also on. Kept McCartin and Blakey away from taking any easy intercept marks. Has put together a good 2 months after a slow start to the season.

A lot of Warner’s disposals were rushed or just hacks forward, MM was very good on him and provided more offense than Warner on the night too. The team did decent jobs defensively on Heeney and Gulden too, who were also getting a lot of rushed kicks.

Dowling is all class, must play every game from here.

Sholl is putting together a very good two months and would absolutely be looking to lock him in for at least another season.

I still have no idea how Amartey kicked 9, he didn’t touch the ball in the first quarter and was never sighted outside of the goals! Just one of those nights were there were a couple of poor defensive lapses and everything seemed to fall in his lap. Murphy was worse than Keane tbh, both should be dropped.

'Set up beautifully for Grundy to tap with his opposite hand. He uses his right hand actually there'

It's not even possible to analyse ruck contests with any confidence
this analysis was the biggest non-event I've ever seen hahaha, even calling it commentary is a stretch. It was basically verbal subtitles.

I don't think Nicks has lost the players. Sure one or two might have a voodoo doll of his bald fly infested scone under their pillow (Pedlar/Rachele/Curtin).

Our biggest loss this year was a 42 point loss to the best side in the competition and we were up halfway through the 3rd quarter. That isn't a side that has given up on their coach.

I thought Nicks lost the group at the start of that 3rd quarter against Hawthorn. We went goal less in the 2nd quarter and then Hawthorn kicked the first 3 to go up 47 points and I thought it was going to get very very ugly. But they fought back.

I think we are at a turning point. The players like Nicks and have always liked Nicks - he is a players coach. But there comes a time when losing over rides this. We are on the cusp IMO.
Once players start asking to leave to other clubs we will know that they see no future for the club under Nicks. Either the club sacks him at that point or we lose our best players and head for another 10 year rebuild in the bottom 4. Knowing how dumb the club is they will arrogantly dig their heels in blaming the players and back Nicks in. They can't handle the fact that hiring Nicks was the worst coaching appointment the club has ever made. They will stupidly try and make it work instead of cutting their losses.

I'm not surprised Hinge lost his temper at Adams after he put the 7 fingers up at him following Amartey's 7th goal. I wish Tex was given those frees in a marking contest across his career, would be nearing 1000 goals by now.

Sydney probably still win, but that bs free to Amartey changed the game in seconds and gave Sydney all the momentum.

Yep, don't think he has lost them yet either or one of our losses would have been a massive blowout by now. However, that tipping point is close as you say, one or two more home losses I reckon and things will go downhill very fast.

10 unanswered goals tells you otherwise
