Amazing how these threads just turn into a pile-on on whoever disagrees.

No way thommo gets another week off. We get a bye round between the home and away season and finals this year, so thommo is sure to come back in for the last 3 rounds.

CEY probably deserves another shot, so I'd like to see Douglas go out to make way for thommo.

Wigg in for seedsman, if he's injured.

Sauce in for ROB.

Mackay survives again, but I can really see him letting us down against better sides if he stays in.

WTF am I reading that Atkins struggled last night. Of the bull....it I see posted on here that takes the biscuit.

25 touches at 80% DE.

He plays on the wing - WTF are people actually expecting? F....ng moronic posting.

Call me a"****ing moron" all you like but from where I was sitting, it looked like Atkins was running up and down on the spot and his movement isn't as crispt as it was early in the season.

I'm in the bus to give him a rest now, freshen him up and have him come back fresh for the showdown.

I'd prefer to give him a rest now and have him fresh fire the final 6 games (round 21 and 22 and 4 potential finals) than have him put in a very poor performance round 1 oif the finals due to him completely being spent.

You criticize the thread .....but from what i'm seeing you're doing nothing more or less than every other poster within the thread ......strange comment?

Out: Douglas, (Seedsman)
In: McGovern, (Wigg)

Jacobs and Thompson get another rest.

If Seedsman is injured, he comes out for Wigg, but I suspect he will get up

Jacobs back if fit, assuming Seeds is okay at this stage

In: Jacobs, Thommo
Out: ROB, Douglas

I don't disagree with Thommo having another week off but think he will be back.

I reckon Thommo (and Sauce) should have another rest, we only have a 6 day break after coming back from Perth before the showdown and then another 6 day break before WC.

Both of those games are danger games, it's well documented that the older guys take longer to recover.

Will be a very interesting selection night. Thommo and Shooter should be back.

Do we leave ROB in and give JJ a spell ?? Do Mackay and Douglas hold their spots when they shouldn't. Who gets managed this week ??

This can't be the first time you've come across Wayne's-World? I still get sucked in to arguing with him; we all should be used to it now.

What?

Atkins had 25 possessions at 80% DE.

So he got caught HTB - all this means is that he waits for the best option and yes sometimes he gets caught. Occupational hazard.

Played well last night and did not look leg weary at all.
Pretty much exactly what Roo said on the coverage. Prefer to see that than constant bombs down the line to a contest.

There's a fine difference in what Atkins is elite at and what people seem to think he's elite at.

Atkins is an elite decision maker ELITE. As a result part of his MO is to hold on to the ball and make the best decision, not just the easy decision.

What he's not elite at is execution, he's very good usually, but certainly won't be perfect everytime. Still has plenty of room for improvement and that's his challenge.

Enough of the Douglas Out and Thommo out,
Last week we complained about Percentage, because we want our team to top 2 or at least top 4, yet 2 of the senior players that play finals like football we want out. We need to start thinking about Finals football,
Douglas this year always take the tough assignments in the forward line he take the runners, the Laird type players, Then on Sat he also had to go in the middle in the second quarter when Brisbane actually got on top and even up the clearances again playing that defensive Mid, On Sat after Rich had a good 1st quarter Douglas ply accountable on him restricted him to 9 touches for 3 quarters and stopped his run, Douglas was allowed to play his game for one quarter, Then needed to sacrifice his game for the team.
Thommo worst games this year are still better than what his replacements have given us, don't forget Thommo in the forward line can kicks goal aswell.
CEY played in the forward line He also spent just as many minutes in the middle as the others did, How many noticed that Sloane, Lyons, Brad, Matt and CEY share equal time rotating thru that forward line position, Something they have been toying with for a few weeks More so last night were they rested them n the forward line more. More so with Seedsman out of the picture.
Yes CEY could do with another shot, But unless they rest Atkins or MacKay I cannot see it. Did he do enough to hold out Thommo No he did not, did he do enough to push MacKay or Atkins out, Maybe Atkins but he lacks the visibility of pushing MacKay out. And his field kicking was not good, His Field kicking was in the 25% you cannot sugar coat it.
Will they rest Douglas doubt it as they have no other Midfielder that can play a defensive role as good as he can that is one who is willing to sacrifice his game.
As the club will be going for the top 4 and need to win every game to make top 4. And with 3 games to go they will want experience players in the side. You don't win finals without them.

May be 2-3 changes,
ROB for Jacobs - Dosen't matter what we want or think Jacobs plays if Fit
Thommo in for CEY or Atkins. Again to close to finals and important games not to play him.
Seedsman for Henderson if Injured.
Players that need to improve, More so with Hampton starting to play good football and yes he a class above the SANFL.
Brown and Smith, There turn over have stopped runs and created scoring opportunities for the opposition

And yes I would love CEY to play Finals he has the big body and good clean hands, He does however need to improve his Field kicking no matter what people think. But who does he replace in the side and improve the side in all conditions.

I agree with all of this. Resting Thommo for 2 games if he is fit is pointless. If he is playing finals, he comes in this week.

CEY takes Doulgas spot. Given his midfield and forward work, I think this could work well. Seems that he can play his role, except he is bigger, quicker. He also gives the crows something different. We almost need to let him have a string of games to get their confidence up and used to the pace of the game.

Sauce -> ROB (if fit). The young lad played really well tonight. Good to know we have that back up option.

The problem then becomes where does McGovern fit? Ugh, tough call. Remember folks, this is a "good problem" to have.

Sorry that wasn't actually directed at you

Look, I disagree with Wayne as much as anyone but we have a number of sheep on this board who have this fear of disagreeing or posting an alternative opnion.

He had his bad points but one of his better attributes, he does create discussion. Some don't and that becomes boring.

Douglas didn't tag Rich out of it - Rich was lazy and slack; did more pointing than running.

Thommo has kicked two goals this year.
