Can't be as bad as the goal we got robbed from, I mean what the hell was that about please explain ?

I have no idea what you're talking about, but I am enjoying the holier-than-thou attitude from West Coast fans, of all people.

So now McGovern "pulled him down"? I think that would have been prohibited contact and a free kick.

McGovern shepherded.
I think we are pushing the proverbial uphill RussellEbertHandball

Regardless of the arm, McGovern's body makes contact with Gray below the knee, just above the foot, which is what actually causes Gray to trip.
And tripping is forbidden under 15.4.5.

If the reverse happened in Perth and Gray impeded McGovern in the same way the Subiaco Boo-A-Drome would 'be gone off its ****, you included.

Of course I would, my first post said I thought it looked like a free when it happened.

I would like to think in the light of day, cooled off from the match, with a replay to watch I might concede it was a good bit of play that looked bad at full speed...like REH is.

Had McGovern just lay there and Gray tripped over him, fine. But he didn't. He actively reached out to impede him and he tripped him. The moment McGovern chose to engage and then made contact with Gray's lower leg it's a trip.

Score review ? Are you that one eyed you didn't notice ?

Firstly, you don't have to put a space prior to each question mark. That's almost as annoying as your penchant for rhetorical questions.

Secondly, I haven't seen a replay, perhaps you could supply some details above and beyond the vaguest of references which is essentially, "um, football. it happened. did you watch ?"

Blocking an opponent reasonably, yes.

Diving across their legs from a prostrate position, and avoiding a free kick/report for tripping because "well, first contact occurs just above the knees, probably" is a shady loophole at best, especially when minimal contact is required around a stoppage to see Pendlebury and Selwood awarded frees for being kept out of it.
Its not just above the knee. Look at the video 13.49 to go in the second qtr, and McGovern's shoulder/torso hits Gray's body at hip height. There is no free at that point. In the twisting motion McGovern slides down Gray's leg. Where a free kick might be considered is that a Mcovern hits the ground his body has twisted and takes out Gray's foot. But there was nothing intentional in it and umpires are not going to pay that free at that speed if the first thing the umpire saw was the body hitting Gray's hip. From the replay umpire 30 is about 10m away from play and saw it on a 45 degree angle.

Lol at these freo supporters and their two cents...

We will beat you. You seem bitter about your choke last year at home..

What are u doing on our forum? Youll lose next week. Mark it down.

Ok your one of those, Watch the first 2 mins and get back to me

I thought Krak was great. Love his intercepting of marks and his run off the backline. Was one of a very few positives of yesterday.

Your gif is shithouse - too fast. you have to have a frame by frame to see where initial contact is made as I have just done on my IQ.

Need to stop hogging all the IQ in here REH :D

You can clearly see McGoverns arm and anatomically he has to be much higher than the knee. Can you post a still?

I will pass your complaint to the West Coast turbomcgovern.gif department.

Imo it's simple, other teams have worked us out, stop us winning center clearances, that stops our outside run with White and Polec when playing. They win the majority of clearances, kick long to their forward line, then push up hard. We have not worked out how to counter this (yet), we just defend well and can't move the ball out of our defensive half, so when we get the ball we just bomb it out and turn it over. I think with this happening has made us look poor in other areas of our game, or are we an average side that looks great when we run hard from the center square. This is only my opinion but i fear we may be a one trick pony atm. Win the clearances and we win the game.

I'm not sure the fuss. Poor footy cost us the game, we were outplayed in the second half, however it doesn't take away from the fact contact is made below the knee to Gray - as clearly shown in this shot.

No I havent learnt how to pinch footage of my Foxtel IQ. I rang them once and asked them if I could, got a no, and then asked why there is a USB port on the box. I got a bit of a s****** from them.

But the first contact was to the hip, that's what stopped Gray.

Something something incidental contact after launching across an opponent's legs.

What's that got to do with it. Tackles slip down all the time, it makes no difference where the first contact is.

If old mate western crows franchise means the goal review that clearly shows the ball being touched by Jackson when he is laying on the ground which was clearly visible to everyone on the big screen at the ground, then I have no idea what he is talking about 'clearly disallowed goal'?

We played the way we played against the cows, the only difference being that the opposition this week, were a superior outfit than the other mob.

We made those little fumbles, trying to take the ball with one hand, not going hard through the line of the ball nor hitting the ball and the player with the ball as hard as we should have on a number of occasions. To use racing parlance, we played "within ourselves" and that is not good enough against any opposition regardless of who they are.

I want to see us go berserk at whoever the opposition is next week to rid ourselves of the embarrassment that was our last game.

Because of the speed that it was happening at. As I said in one of my posts it was a reasonable play on decision decision and what the umpire saw first. it wasnt a blatant Dustin Fletcher trip where he dives and his hand takes the foot first or sticks his foot out and trips his opponent.
