Rawlings, Satterley join Dees

Settle down mate, who cares that she's never played a game of AFL footy? That doesn't mean she cant have good opinions

Have a look at the coaching structures.

It's very clear that the 'no-name' coaches we've signed are ones considered teachers and developers of players.

We've got two more senior coaching appointments, and I happen to think that Rawlings is a very good appointment, he comes with good raps.
Tell me what Rawlings brings to the table?

if you rate her opinion you have no idea, how many games did she play, so far we seem to have 3rd rate assistants, we have some guy from Ocean Grove, another from the TAC, and some loser from the Tigers and Lions, yeah it"s stacking up real well.

I find you amusing at times but that's some of your poorest work.

You're a disgrace and a constant embarrassment to this board.

Pretty much sums it up.

It takes 3rd rate trolling to know 3rd rate assistants I guess.

God bless school holidays.

Even better :thumbsu:

Im not having a go at Neeld as senior coach, im just saying apart from the person from the Saints so far its sub standard.

That bloke from the Saints is Dave Misson. Show's how much you really pay attention to the club when you don't even know his name.

Greaves and Satterley bring plenty of experience and good records to the club to play a development role. Rawlings has runs on the board as an interim coach and an assistant for many years. How many of our coaches have even been thought about a senior coach? None. Rawlings is already ahead of them.

Where"s Greaves from, sounds sub standard scholar.

Greaves spent time with both St. Josephs and Leopold in the GFL as a senior coach - he spent a little more time with Leopold and turned them around from easy beats in to a Top 5 side. From memory he spent two years there and then moved to the Falcons as senior coach and now on to us. He is only in a development role though, working under Brian Royal. Just like Satterley as forward line development coach. Going too fast for you?

You don't know his background - but you still think he sounds sub-standard?

Put it this way, Greaves and Slattery have pretty much the same background as Neeld had when he was picked up by Collingwood. Except that he went straight in as backline coach, these guys are "only" assistants to the line coaches at the Dees.

Apparently an excellent communicator and footy brain.

I can't tell you for sure because I've never seen the bloke coach.

He also has senior coaching experience at VFL and AFL level (Coburg and Richmond) so he can handle a bit of responsibility.

i would never do that, i love my father to much, what would your Father say to that moron, you should get 3months for that.

3 months for what? Talking about myself? My old man didn't suffer fools lightly mate so I think I'll be fine. :thumbsu:

This is it in a nutshell. Coaches get their start somewhere, and for these two it's as development coaches at the club. Who knows, in time they could take on senior assistant roles and go from there.

Thanks for the decent reply pup.

Talk me through your AFL career?

Whilst I agree with some former AFL players when they use the old "you just wouldn't know, you never played" line, I can't see how Emma playing would change her opinion of Paul Greaves. If you don't rate any of our signings it is you jack who has no idea Jack.

Look at the NFL. I watch a bit of it and I see a lot of 300lb guys and 250lb super fast black guys on the field.

Then I look at the coaches on the bench. Occasionally there is a black guy or a big dude but most of the time there's average looking blokes who look like even in their prime they would get destroyed on the field. Now the AFL is more fixated on younger coaches but the principles involved with Satterley and Greaves are the same. Guys who worked their way up through the system, building up young talent and having success. They are driven young men who possess the ability to think and to work well with young players.

Don't take this the wrong way guys...
But: I rate neeld. Looks like bucks is fuming he is gone. So he should be, good pedigree.

But Rawlings? Has never been anywhere that's had success, and yes he has experience, it's losing experience. And as for mission not bad. And the guy from the GFL. come on. Is he there as insurance until Craig accepts?

Couldn"t agree more, very sub standard so far, apart from Mission.

You mean the guys from the VFL and TAC Cup?

They are both assistants to the senior line coaches.

Tell me, realistically, who did you expect us to be going for when we are filling positions that are assistants to an assistant?

Rawlings is a pretty good appointment for an assistant coach.

As a senior coach? Hell, no.

If we are going to go by the papers, (Which you seem to like to do.) Rawlings is an excellent communicator who is very highly regarded in AFL circles. A great get, I would suggest.

Using your formula to assess the value of an assistant coach, Wayne Campbell would have to be the worst assistant coach in the history of the AFL!
