I'm not trying to be a smart-alec, I just reckon he should of kept a lid on it instead of making a silly throw away comment like that. Already it has come back to bite him, and us, where the sun don't shine.

He hasn't even played a games yet, at least let him play before making comments like that.
It's not the first rounders that we generally muck up. It's the 2nd, 3rd, 4th rounders that end up as complete duds.
No, it's only come back to bite him if his words are being taken literally, which would only be done by an imbecile or someone with an agenda.
May be "a player" with some development, but correct, a 21 year old high pick should be ready to go

Actions speak louder than words and if we are to be taken seriously, then it is actually winning games that are going to make the footy world sit up and listen.
It's not Blains fault we're stupid and didn't pick him up in the rookie draft.
Of course. But what Malthouse said was irrelevant to what has just happened, unless you want to question his faculties.

The most misunderstood quote in a long time.
He was essentially saying he thought we were capable of beating anybody and that he wasn't looking at any opponent as being a likely loss. Exactly the right attitude, and I go into every game thinking we could win.

I got a little excited during the NAB Collingwood game, they looked pretty together.

LOL, as if BB would have not been drafted anytime in the National Draft. Don't take the opinions of a jaded St Kilda recruiter's gossip as gospel ..
It's great for him to say that to the players but he has put a massive target on himself, the players and the club because of it. If we go 0-4 again you don't think the scribes will be all over that comment ??
I fully support the guy but this is one public comment I wish he never made.
