Great game. Obviously disappointed in the outcome, but glad we gave it a good shot.

Obvious positives; Doc, Cripps, Simpson, Gibbs, Kreuzer, the usual suspects.

I thought Kerridge played well today, surprised to see some people still hating on him. White, I think had an above average game by his standards, it was good to see. He didn't make a massive impact, but he wasn't terrible.

I was a bit disappointed by Fisher, I thought after his absence last week he would come in and have a killer game, but he didn't deliver. Similar feelings with Cuningham, but to a lesser extent due to the goal he kicked.

Also, Murphy seems out of form. I hope he returns to how he was playing at the start of the season.

We are not as far off as some people would have you believe. Further improvement will come from increased fitness for the kids & self belief.

Don Pyke described it as a "finals-style" game. This with us playing a number of kids. Quite a compliment.

I honestly couldn't care about age profiles and 'cashing in' on players who might not be around when we are contending; if Bryce Gibbs can be convinced/wants to stay, we must keep him. Trigg came out and said he expects him to fulfill his contract and I hope he willingly does and is enjoying playing for Carlton.

His play this year has simply been that of a top midfielder in the league. What he brings to the table is so hard to find in a player: Offensive/defensive balance, inside/outside balance, sublime skills, tackling regularity and effectiveness, goal scoring ability, durability as well as leadership. Couldn't care less if people think I have my Navy coloured glasses on here, I don't think I'm over-rating him at all. He is having his best season of footy IMO and is not only crucial in our side but sets a great example to the younger players. I was ok with trading him for a good deal last year, it made some sense particularly is he wanted out but now hope like hell he stays. Another brilliant game in what has been a great couple of months of footy from him.

We showed those 30 minute delayed campaigners how weak they really are. Threw in half a team of reserves and 18-19 year olds and nearly pinched it.

Crows have no chance to play in a GF in the next 5 years with that team. All meat no potatoes.

We should be asking for 3 first rounders now for gibba. They would be begging for a midfielder with his skill set...

Structured up really well after the first 15 mins. Credit to bolts and senior players to fixing it up.

I don't see a problem with showing good signs / green shoots and honourable losses at this time of our rebuild. Especially with higher draft picks as important as wins at this stage.

4 more gun mids with forward smarts and a gun KPF away from the big leagues. (Edited after reading own post below)

Also on Pannell he umpired me while i was playing in the Division 1 WRFL ( 15+yrs ago ) and he was just as inept then as what he is now and no one in the WRFL club ranks today can believe he made it to the AFL at all and is still getting games.

He is a biased piece of shit.

That's a bit harsh... He isn't a superstar midfielder but he is a good midfielder. You cant have a midfield stocked with superstars due to cap space

Kerridge 27 possessions, 5 marks and an awesome goal. Not normally a fan, but had a good game. So much going right, from match day coaching, senior players playing well and players like SOS and Charlie coming on. Very exciting times ahead.

And from what I've read Kerridge kept Sloane to 19 possessions as well

At this particular point in time Jones would be relieved just to get a contract, any sort of contract. Has he played well??? Sure, no problems there.....but when I see people in the list management thread coming out with statements such as 2 years @ $500k????? If he's still performing at that level in 2 years time where he's developed a track record then I'd only be too happy for the club to reward him accordingly. But for now, let's just let the bloke enjoy his footy without putting the weight of the world on his shoulders and keep things in context with a little perspective yes??? FMD.

Agree with your thoughts on Kerridge, played a good game restricting Sloane's impact while having a genuine influence on the game himself.
Think it's fair to say the many, if not all, of the 1st & 2nd year players are well and truly feeling the pinch now and having a bit more extensive injury list has exposed our lack of depth. The club never promised the rebuild wouldn't come without its share of pain.
