Swift dropped? Yeah Woosha, you're really building a team for the future

I must admit Swift was terrible against the Pies, so slow and almost was waiting for them to tackle him. The team is getting better hopefully the end of Wilkes. McKinley is an interesting one, Im tipping he will be gone at the end of the year. I think this could be lynches last chance or hoping he can push up his trade value. good to see smith, stevenson and hams in the side

I think Swift might have been told to go back to the WAFL and kick the ball. Only 2 kicks out of 18 touches last week. He seems more attacking when using the ball by foot in the WAFL... probably just needs to re-gain some touch and fitness.

Not sure I agree with it, but to give other youngsters a go they seem to be going youngster-for-youngster.

As much as we would love to see a midfield of Swift, Masten, Stevens, Ebert, Stevenson and S.Selwood... they are probably not ready to do it all themselves (in terms of both ability and fitness). Swift will be back when he demands his place through form and he'll cement it when he is good enough to string good games of footy together.

I never thought Jones would play again, but in the absense of Hurn he probably offers an actual defender to free up Waters and Sheppard for stints in the midfield. It also reduces the chances of Embley playing half-back, which everyone should be thankful for.

this is the Crows Line-up

Adelaide
B: Graham Johncock, Ben Rutten, Scott Stevens
HB: Michael Doughty, Phil Davis, Brad Symes
C: Bernie Vince, Patrick Dangerfield, Rory Sloane
HF: Ricky Henderson, Taylor Walker, Nathan van Berlo
F: Jason Porplyzia, Kurt Tippett, Richard Douglas
Foll: Ivan Maric, Scott Thompson, Simon Goodwin
I/C: Brent Reilly, Jonathon Griffin, Tony Armstrong, Matthew Jaensch
Emg: Myke Cook, Jack Gunston, James Sellar
(No change)

They have 2 tall forwards who are dangerous - Tippett and Walker - and a fairly small backline. So in terms of height, we dont want to be too tall coz they will run it out once it hits the ground.

I'd prefer byron schammer at half back thats how badly i dont want embley there. Bones in defence instead of embley heading back is like christmas.

Overall im really happy with the changes. Still dont like the look of our centreline but can only change so much at once.

Unfortuantely,

we might be in trouble with the line up.

We really needed HOULIHAN AND SWIFT.

Worsfold cant work out that this is what he needs.

Maybe next week, he will put them in

We cant be beat if those 2 are in with Hurn

Being honest what has Swift done so far this year that has been great. He runs around like its a practice game with that intensity and his disposal has been poor. He was a better player last year

pretty decent changes.

with such an inexperienced backline, i can understand the inclusion of brett jones.

mitch brown for wilkes is a major positive. if he plays back that is.

disappointed swifty is out, but im sure he'll be back in no time. those who are whinging about dropping a young player should have a look at the inclusions of stevenson and smith, who both deserve their spots.

not sure about this game, hopefully we can click in the midfield and give some decent supply to JK and leca.

even though he gets a lot of shit around here (from myself included), hopefully embers has a good 200th and we get a win. he's been a great west coast servant and helped deliver us a premiership.

So you could keep this
C: Matt Rosa, Matt Priddis, Andrew Embley, plus A. Selwood.

:thumbsu:

That's a beauty, isn't it.

Good to see Stevenson back, should never have been dropped... :thumbsu:

Great to see Smithy in for his debut, he should gives us good dash and foot skills out of defense. :thumbsu:

Great to see Dalziell, Wilkes and McGinnity out aswell. :thumbsu:

I don't mind this team. As mentioned, Jones will be handy with his experience down back if anything. Very young back line. Unlucky for Swift but he didn't look right last week.

+1 I'm not sure why everyone pumps this guy up, everytime he gets the ball looks like he's running up and down on the one spot slow as treacle.

I am convinced that ALL our problems can be attributed to our poor running brigade. We will not begin to see the light until a fit Shuey, Swift, Masten, Houlihan, Ebert, Sheppard, Stevens and Kerr are all on the park at once. aka next season, although getting as many games into them as possible now is vitally important.

Very disappointing to see players like Selwood, Priddis and Embley in front of Swift, Houlihan and Stevens.

Glad Swift is out......most overated player on this site and he believes in his hype too much. Plays as though he thinks he is the greatest thing since slice bread. Needs an attitude adjustment and a kicking lesson in the process.

About time Brown is sent back......he has been a disgrace as a forward and is a born defender.......Jakovich Mark II. Get Notte in as our forward if we want an new option up there.

Stevenson.......wasnt he injured last week in the WAFL? I expect him to be replaced by a bigger body in the midfield which we are going to need in the wet weather.

Glad Smith has got his chance. Wont be the best conditions for him so I wont expect much from him. Hopefully he can show his pace and dash and provide a great springboard for us along side Sheppard.

Hams Im ok with......might jag a few high tackles and goals in the slippery conditions.
