Win against Collingwood not looking as good as it was! They are xooked
People have said that about almost every single one of our wins this season.

At the end of the day it was an 8 pointer, away from home, against a team with their season on the line. You can just as easily argue that we broke them and they had nothing left for this game.

Surprised to see Clark omitted, not even named as a sub or emergency. Who did he make mad?

More just he needs a rest at the slower vfl pace. Probably cant carry a low tog player on a night like tonight.

Neale out is odd..i get we have one too many fwds but the oppo is tall and his rucking would have been handy..i expected rohan to miss not him.

Ollie Henry has played some absolutely terrible games in the wet. So much so you could hardly believe he grew up playing junior footy in Geelong.

* Hoping for the reverse jinx here.

They said Neale was rested, but Clark omitted. Can't see why they be open about resting one but not the other. I think Clark's desperation would be quite the asset in a wet slog 🤷

Clark played VFL - omitted isn't necessarily a bad thing, but we need to remember that he was omitted ahead of the Hawthorn clash before being a late in against Hawthorn when Knevitt was out sick

With Knevitt getting a run at it last week, he returns this week to play on the wing - Clark didn't necessarily do much wrong, but playing in the guts in the VFL will be better for his development

As for Neale, he's a late out tonight - so it really is a rest for him as he isn't playing this weekend

I am surprised we didnt bring bruhn straight back in if we knew atkins was missing.

I suppose we call this parfitts farewell game like menegola had in rnd 24 last year.
Neale is probably injured. He barely got near it last week after hurting his throat.

Funny that.
I’d say he’s played some absolute beauty’s in the wet, for us and the Pies

Parf did very little to deserve missing the last +/-10 games. He is the perfect replacement for Atkins. Seems we can't play both in the same team. Missing Neale is interesting given the amount of talls Dogs are playing.

How small are we trying to go?

Ground may be not the best condition but there isnt even rain planned for the match,

If the seniors is like the VFL, it wasn't the talls who were most influential out there - it's heavy under foot, players losing their footing all match and it's going to be game of territory

Thinking we've tried to adapt to that and play some chaos football going forward

I think the point remains that generally you're better equipped to handle wet conditions if your centre of gravity is lower to the ground.
Yes and no. I kind of feel the most important player in a wet game is the ruckman. There will be heaps of ball ups and they are the one who have the most influence over it.

The tall fowards tend to have less impact in the wet though.

You run teams off their feet in dry tracks. Not slow tracks.

You crash and bash and scrap on slow tracks.
All that we're doing is starting Henry instead of Neale, and bringing a midfielder off the bench for the sub (instead of adding another marking forward).

"Lost at the selection table" - hmmm. That's a stretch.

True, but the expectation is that there'll be a lot of contested ground ball, and if we have the smaller players who can extract it better we then minimise the ruck / tall forward influence.
