Danger only missed that shot because hawkins dropped a mark.
To go with the mark he fumbled 2m out from goal.
Then the other even later in the game that he would have taken 99 times out of 100.

Potting the bloke who was clear BoG yet ignoring all the other players who either had chances and fluffed them, or were putrid all game...

Was he really clear BOG ..did not feel that way to me...

Speed is on Henry’s side.

Their marking ability is about the same.

Experience is on Hendersons side.

Personally, I think that Henry is more suited to teams like Richmond who scrub the ball forward. His ability to get to an opponent is crucial. Against the Eagles, you’d want them both.

Good points Vic. Maybe it comes down to our opponent and we select accordingly?

When a small forward kicks 50% of the team's goals and that team only wins by 1 point, he WAS the difference. I don't know how you could see it any other way
Im not sure we're talking about exactly the same thing.

Of course, Cameron is a star and he took his chances and looked great.

But he wouldn't have scored if other things didn't go right for them, and wrong for us. He was literally the cherry on top for me.

You want excellent finishers in your team. But for them to come into play, you need the backline to repel, the midfield to transition and your elite mids to get the ball to those finishers.

FOr me the difference was that we didn't take our chances and they took their's. That we had more lapses in concentration than them.

The only time that I think personnel are the difference are during games like the WC/Tigers game, where Martin kept getting to the ball, winning it, and delivering it to a team mate and got their team back into it. I can't even remember who kicked the goals, but that power of work by Martin broke the Eagles. Fyfe does this often too.

really was. By a really long way.

I might be in the minority but I thought Danger was clearly BOG and I agree with the coach's assertion that Cameron wasn't that influential. He got on the end of a few but goal tally doesn't always correlate to influence - see the career of Josh Jenkins.

Marcus Adams was Brisbane's most influential player IMO - stopped Hawkins and set them up time and time again.

Mad Scientist has arrived. Looking at the draw and all the different scenarios I have come to the conclusion tanking Vs Carlton would give Geelong the best finals run a fourth-place finish. We send Danger, Yablett, Selwood, Harry & Hawk down with the Flu.

Want to finish 4th before you call me crazy

Let's look at the most likely scenario Richmond Defeat Brisbane. West Coast defeat Hawthorn. Geelong Defeat Carlton.

Cats Finish on Top draw Richmond at the MCG the loser will go on to theoretically play Collingwood MCG with a likely encounter with West Coast at the MCG. Yes Cats never leave home great but probably couldn't ask for a worse draw. West Coast showed today they are the real deal at the MCG as well I don't see any ground advantage what so ever to be honest.

Brisbane Cause the upset Nut Richmond at the MCG Richmond founders to 5th cats win Eagles Win.

Geelong finish 2nd Draw West Coast at MCG it rains cats win 🤣 either way if you lose draw Wester Bulldogs or GWS both trickey sides for the cats. Collingwood V Richmond Likely. Then Richmond at the MCG in the prelim at home 😂😂😂😂 technically home game.

Either way you draw both of the form powerhouse so to speak sides twice.

My favourite options the controversy haha Geelong tanks to Carlton somehow probably trying to win give the veterans the week off send them up the sunny coast Sunday night. Richmond Beats Brisbane West Coast best hawthorn.

We know the cats can go up to Brisbane and have a win. Plan A is we win Richmond Goes to Perth and they belt each other up again 2 times in a month. Now Richmond are coming back from Perth think the coast can win at home.

Richmond come back and play a Bulldogs or GWS. Collingwood it Essendon square of in elimination.

Geelong has technically from fourth stolen Brisbane one seed anyway 😜

Yes we Cop Richmond in the prelim most likely but I much much prefer this long route around through Perth and through a form team when they have had to push so hard to get top 4. Just the longest Journey or on the flipside we can draw west coast who are beatable in prelim.

Yes this all comes unstuck if west coast lose etc.

But seriously that would be my dream run in all the other likely scenarios we are playing Richmond and west coast in first final and prelim screw that with a possible date with Pies at MCG.

You will call me mad but tank it up vs the blues

That was good. I don't mind your idea at all.

That doesnt make sense.

If we beat Carlton, we finish second if Brisbane win, or first if Brisbane lose.

With a win next week (by us), we stay in Victoria.

We can only play the following teams.

1. Richmond (if they win and WC win), we end up first, Richmond end up fourth - MCG
2. WC (if Richmond lose and WC win), we end up second, WC end up third - MCG
3. Collingwood (if Collingwood win, Richmond lose and WC lose) - Pies end up third - MCG

If we lose to Carlton, then its a different story.

1. Brisbane (Richmond win, WC win), then we are fourth, Lions first - Gabba
2. WC (Richmond lose, WC win), we are third and have WC (who are second) - Optus
3. Collingwood (Richmond and WC lose), we are second and Collingwood are third - MCG
4. WC (Collingwood, Richmond and WC lose), we are second and WC are third - MCG

Or Collingwood win by a 100plus and and we lose by more than five goals, 5th.....

Dangerfield was the difference though. About to break from the centre and take a match winning lead, he first drills the ball too high, meaning that the mark is dropped. He then misses a goal from 30 out, straight in front. That was the difference... We lost the game due to his inability or unwillingness to improve his kicking, both in general play but especially for goal.

It is demoralising to have a sitter missed at one end, for the opposition to go forward and Cameron nail a goal at the other.

Dangerfield is essentially arrogance personified these days!
Crap. (Respectfully.)

This is one of the reasons I was quite optimistic about the loss. Hawkins played almost the worst game I have ever seen him play.He was simply terrible. Lot of room for upside which is good news if you only lose by a point to the top team on their home deck. Also our forward line is still our biggest weakness and Hawkins our most important player in the forwards. Therefore any improvement by him is even more important than normal.

He looked absolutely cooked from the first bounce, I wonder if he was crook throughout the week and the heat just drained him.
He dropped sitters, he couldn't compete and he was cramping constantly in the second half.

It was certainly very strange. I the was even half on we win that game for sure. The only issue I have with the way the play now is much like Ross Lyon's teams in the past. IF you play such a defensive style then even if you control the game for large parts of it you leave yourself open to beating by a team that has ten good minutes at the end of the game. Can't complain if you lose like we did when you are so negative you never maximise scoring opportunities when you are on top.

Im sure there was footage of him during the first or second quarter - huffing and puffing, bent over, with his hands on his knees. It was really strange to see.

Either that or he's lost his mind, if someone kicking half his sides goals in a one point win isn't influential I don't know who would be.

Succinct and 100% correct, without Dangerfield we lose by a lot more then one point, the sniping of him is getting absurd.

Cameron didn't kick 5 on bews. Plus he was stiff on a couple. Players get beaten sometimes. 2E has underperformed for a good portion of the year, he has to go.

Who'd he kick 5 on then? The one that Henderson was "on him" was only because Bews got caught out of position with a fast transitioning ball. Bews got flogged. No other word for it. But agree with your opinion of Tuohy. He needs to go. With Bews.

I don't think Bews has underperformed regularly. He's been serviceable this year. Tuohy has been abysmal almost every game. I think we need Bews come finals. Whereas I'd rather not see Tuohy in the team for the rest of the year. Mark my words - Tuohy is going to cost us big time in a final.

Yep. Not fickle At all - Henry doesn’t do nearly enough and needs to come Out which means a tall defender needs to come in. Blicavs is our best option around the ground as a ruckman. But he also needs to go
Back. Ideally we’d have 2 of him.
Henry doesn't do enough. 🤨 Spell me. When he's called upon he is very good. Henderson was good on the weekend, however, when he has to move faster than a snails pace he is suspect. Henry is the now, and the future.
