So to all those Carlton supporters who, three years ago, screamed like sooks to get rid of Ratts because our playing list was apparently underachieving & who stated we needed a coach like Malthouse to get the best out our of list, you are now reaping what you have sown.

We need to find 6-8 gems in the next couple of drafts & then wait for them to develop. Supporters will need to accept that no matter who is coaching us, we have still got 2-3 ordinary years ahead of us. There is no miracle cure for where we are at, regardless of whether you were to appoint a Clarkson, Hinkley, Beveridge etc to coach us.

Cannot fully agree with you on this. For many years we have been a very poor environment for players to enter. The whole place has been a cancerous environment which has infected players. Think that Mick and Pagan were damaged before they got to the club and assisted in the demise of the talent of the lists. Ratts was ok but really a much better assistant coach. Even now most of the list is playing far less than their talent levels. Think the right coach in the right environment could make a very compeditive unit from the present Carlton list.

Crazy that Watson was finally picked and then not given a full game. Expect that he will be dropped which also seems crazy to me. Wasn't getting a look in up forward, should have been brought into the game by putting him down back. We are a side full of shite kicks. At least he has genuine penetration with his kicking. Letting Watson play out the season in the bullants with only a half game of a chance would be typical Carlton.

He was subbed because we weren't getting the ball forward and we needed another player around the ground. It was a logical sub choice.

Seems to me like they kick it sideways in defensive 50 because every player who tries to break a line gets dropped the following week.

First and foremeost, Buckly should always stay in the team, I don't care how many times he turns the ball over or he runs himself into trouble, the fact that he attempts to create run is the most important thing in a team that doesn't know how to move the ball forward.

Buckley is not best 22 & I wouldn't mind betting that he will not be on our list when we next play finals. He does not have enough strings to his bow & I somehow suspect if he wasn't the son of a gun, supporters would be calling for him to be delisted as well.

What if they jumped to the wrong choice in picking Mick? I think the club needed a level headed composed and honest coach. Mick has alot going for him but is far from level headed, composed and honest. Has far too much ego to accept his mistakes and prefers to put a spin on things. Our side has for years lacked integrity and this does start from the top. It was their ego that had them appoint Mick. Not saying that Ratts was the man either. We need to rebuild with a policy of full transparency and honesty and get a board, coach and players who are willing to buy into this policy.

As I have said a few times lately, if the club is going to go down a different road, it needs to be done properly, not as the result of a knee jerk reaction. It is obvious that Malthouse won't be coaching us next year, so let's use the next 3-4 months to go through a proper process to appoint another coach & also use the time to plan our attack during the next trade period & National Draft. If the club goes running off half-cocked, as it has done in the past, we will back here again in 2-3 years time.
