That's common sense and good business Doss , would you care for a position on the CFC board ??
That really depends on whether you'd want an Essendon supporter on it. Somehow I think I know the answer to that one, even if Aph or HBF still harbour ideas of getting me a faux Blues membership.

Post match interviews ... paraphrased.

Yazz I thought would fire up. He went into full on sound byte mode ... need to work hard, stick together, not playing as a team, not naming anybody, we're a team, not naming anybody (he so wanted to). He did talk about our busy the defenders were and how the job was because the Giants were running it in without pressure (Go on Yazz, name a midfielder).

Carrazzo .... need to work hard, stick together, work hard ... that's all I can say. Not going to sugar coat it for the supporters, we were terrible and we know it. Oh and we need to work hard.

Watson is a hack..turning circle of a ****en titanic.
Ellard runs for the ball...and falls over every time.
Carrazzo is finished, he cannot run at all.
Rowe is a hack, doesn't even look at the ball.
Thomas = Hack.
Jasck start eating and drinking protein mate.

Wood showing more heart than anyone, chasing down midfielders, crumbing goals, centre clearances.
Curnow, Judd, Murphy, Bell, Yarran, Levi, had a crack.

They really do just go through the motions don't they.

"Blah blah we need to take accountability for how bad we are"

Next game... Even worse

Bunch of shisters

How is it that Ellard gets a crack ahead of Graham, Ellard the biggest list clogger in the history of the game, 8 years on the list and still not a regular. And people complain about Ratts' list management. I guarantee you he'd be gone by now if Ratts was still here.

Surely he's gone now...he's not strong enough and doesn't have the pace..if you're small, you've got to have one of those attributes to be a good afl footballer. He tries but he's simply not good enough. Graham HAS to get a run this week...SURELY!?

Let me see if I understand you, you are saying that the Giants are so good because their high draft picks are now coming to fruition?

The how do you explain our 3 number one picks plus other top ten picks going backwards instead of improving year after year?
3 number 1 picks doesn't compare to 30 picks in the first 2 rounds in 4 years and that isn't including the pre-selection players or the ability to trade young talent like Jaeger O'Meara to get more picks

we never got that kind of assistance......

Ellard's skill as an AFL footballer is as a small forward who can do a stint in the middle. As a small forward he has, before the whole side fell apart, been very good at finding space and kicking pretty accurately. Loss of confidence has led to poor conversion but his technique is good. He is NOT responsible for our loss - 32 forward entries will do that.

Graham needs to break into a side that, for all its woes, is one of the best contested ball winning sides in the comp. That is Graham's strength. Whether his inclusion in the side would improve us or not is debatable.

For me the really curious selection was that of Watson, a big favourite among some BF posters (like Cringle). Watson is a poor man's Whitnall who the game ran past a decade ago. Any game plan that sees Watson in the team IMO has an obvious flaw with a big head. To be fair to MM he has largely recognised this. What level of desperation caused the MC to select Watson I can't imagine but mercifully he was subbed out appropriately.

Ellard had his best year in 2011 and then was played sporadically in 2012 as Ratten preferred others.

There have always been others in the queue to delist before him. e.g. last year I doubt he'd be still around if Bootsma, Garlett and Robinson hadn't fallen off the wagon, Brock wasn't forcibly 'retired' and Lucas hadn't been offered a rookie spot at WCE.

Must drop Thomas to the seconds until his fitness is up to scratch. I know it wont happen as long as Mick is at the club, but his direct opponents were running off him all game, and kicking goals, whilst he was huffing and puffing with his hands on his knees worse than Warnock.

Um, 2011 he was in Ratten's best side for the year(19 games)...

EDIT: I do agree that Graham should be ahead of him.

Did anyone see access all areas. They showed armfield just sprint right past coniglio and other highlights of disgraceful play.

Spot on. Exactly what I tell ppl about Ellard.

8 years and yet to cement a spot, in the worst side in the comp. He's a clogger.

I know ellards role...and he's not good enough as a small forward, his goal return is shocking and his stints on the ball adds nothing to us, he'll always give his best but not damaging to the opposition at all. Time to move him on at the end of the year. Of course he's not responsible for the loss, but he just needs a lot of improvement and I think we're seeing it right now.

I'm with you on Watson, he's finished at Carlton as well.

Carrazzo and Rowe are not afl standard as well.

Thomas is another, his fitness levels and decisions with the ball are deplorable. He has the talent though so he may turn it around.

You just can't carry players in the afl anymore..you will get exposed.

Ellard is not a genuine small forward, nor does he have the talent to do a stint in the midfield. Even at his supposed peak in 2011 he kicked 15 goals from 19 games. Overall he averages 0.6 goals per game & 13.5 disposals per game. Carlton players with these type of stats are normally 'whipping boys' for the BF faithful & often described as "duds" "hacks" "not VFL standard" etc etc.

Why is Ellard generally exempt from criticism? No doubt the answer will be "he gives 100%". Well this is not entirely true. He very rarely breaks out of a canter when chasing an opponent & he is one of a number of players who spends significant portions of the game stationary. These aren't just 2015 issues either, this accounts for much of Ellard's career.

Carlton players hear hard truths at post-game lock-in following 78-point loss to Greater Western Sydney

Ed Curnow, who was the Blues’ leading ball-winner with 31 disposals, and backline leader Sam Rowe spoke during the half-hour meeting involving players and coaches.

Utility Andrejs Everitt said: “Ed’s a good leader around the club. He was just talking about how our workrate was disappointing and how GWS outworked us.

“Rowey probably got beaten on the day (by five-goal Giants forward Jeremy Cameron), but he thought he’d get up and talk in front of the group about where we want to go. And we need more players doing that.’’
