Going to ignore the winning margin because we had an easy 4 or 5 goals that would be goals 90% of the time. Although we won't get away with 20? Behinds against top four teams possibly even top 8 ./

Best thing about the game is it is hard to pick a BOG pretty even across the board.

I am liking Cahcia a lot but not sure how he will fit when carrots is fit.

Side note Tony Shaw should never be commentating Carlton. In particular hos smart arse comments annoyed me not that the whole commentary team was much better, seemed to be barracking for the lions.

I'll never forget in the port game in 2011 they were talking about Heath Scotland and who won the trade.

He said something along the lines of "Well the blues got Heath Scotland and Collingwood eventually won a flag"

He also once said in 09 i think that Armfield was "too slow and just isn't fast enough for afl football" lol the guys a muppet, commentating was appalling tonight, so pro Brisbane!

Such negativity after a win.

There always is, it's really hard to read some of the comments. Obviously our set shot kicking was severely lacking, and we wasted a hell of a lot of opportunities, but there's no need for people to call our entire team pathetic and so on. They clearly don't appreciate Cachia, McLean, Lucas and Armfield!

when I left home and got in the car with mates we had a 30 point buffer but as soon as I step in the pub and look up on the telly we were behind by 6, that is too big of a fade out and it is not acceptable if we aim to play finals football.
these are the lapses that will certainly bite us on the back when it comes to round 10 and 11, playing against essendon and hawthorn and have a lapse like that second quarter will be the end of it.

good to see sugar kicking three, his first one showed a fair bit of composure. waite is easing back into it too. but the goal kicking was a bit of a let down overall, if I call kicking 1.7 in the last quarter as a disappointment, I honestly believe that is an understatement

I hope next week we jump out of the gate and get a percentage booster unlike last year's game against the giants.

That was very evident in the last qtr.

We kicked 1 goal 7 and it is very frustrating to watch especially when players are running into goal and kick a behind or spray the ball.
We got the 4 points and that's what matters.

We will always have detractors even if we win.
It is in some peoples nature to whinge all the time.

Imagine when we win 17.
I am sure the usual suspects will find something to whinge about.

What's with the strapping (or whatever you call it) on Hendo's thigh? Sure wasn't there last week.

Warnock had 1 disposal for the match.

1.

if you drop him and make Kreuz the number 1 ruck, you get the best out of Kreuz.

then you bring in Casboult or Rowe to back Waite up and help out in the ruck.

Im convinced this is the solution to our big men problem, there is no place in the modern game for a ruckman that taps well but offers nothing around the ground or forward.

Malthouse ponders power of the moon

Kevin Sheedy infamously blamed the Martians; on Saturday night, Mick Malthouse blamed the moon. “Is it a full moon?” he asked after his side's victory over the Brisbane Lions last night. (It was.) “I'm not superstitious, but I tell you, that full moon has drawn the ball away from those goalposts like you can't believe. I blame the moon.
“And why are the goalposts set off centre at the Gabba? See? There's a reason for everything, and I'll blame the moon on everything at the moment. It does strange things to strange people."

Jokes aside, Malthouse was serious about the potential consequences of his side's inaccuracy. “It'll bite us one day if we don't do something about it,” he said.
“We've missed too many over the last two or three weeks from positions where we should kick goals; it's as simple as that.

We now know the reason why we had so many missed shots at goal. :D

"Why are the goalposts set off centre" I don't get it, was this a joke?

Jonathan Brown could be in trouble for collecting Michael Jamison in the third quarter. The Lions champ got into stride for a 40m chase across the field only to have the Blues defender run across his path.

Brown's swinging left arm appeared to catch Jamison's jaw.

Great win tonight - Brisbane are not easy beats - ask Essendon. Carlton starting to develop some hardness through Cachia/Bell/Curnow supporting McLean and Robinson. Simpson and Robinson played their best game in a while. Lucas played a great first quarter along with Waite. Good to see the cool hand of Gibbs back on board.

I think if Kreuzer keeps marking he will kick five in a match soon - he is kicking the ball very straight - just missing by a tad each time - wont take much to see him kick a bag.

Gotta love having guys like Cachia/Bell in the team since they will be fantastic if we make finals with their hardness at the ball.
