It'll be 4 weeks of training since the Melbourne match (where he was really poor) by next weekend.

With 4 games to go, we either make the call to bring him in this week or next, or his season is done.

Decision making time.

Okay. Fair enough.

All down to what Russell thinks now. He does look fitter

unpopular opinion but i think harry needs a spell in the twos, looks way way off it

I don't see it that way.

He was poor yesterday but his work rate against GC and Sydney was excellent.

They also played Laird really close to McKay, cutting off a lot of inside 50s and outnumbering him, particularly when Casboult was pushed up the ground.

Getting McGovern back in to provide another option will help.

If McKay doesn't front up again, then I suppose TDK becomes a consideration. Or if McKay is sore, then TDK is certainly a consideration.

Who do we bring out for Fisher and Kreuzer??
Paddy Dow for Fisher??
Phillips for Kreuzer!!
probably willl come down to who is sore or injured...kennedy for example may need a rest due to the ankle incicdent...

from what weve been witnessing since teague has taken over is that it doesnt seem to matter too much who is or is not in the team...every player (best 22 or not) plays a role and they usually get the job done..this is one of the most pleasing aspects of the way we play...not heavily relient on a few stars.

I have no idea what the make-up of this squad will be to take on this game.

Possible INS:
1. Kreuzer - Tough on Phillips, but unless Phillips plays forward..?
2. Cuningham - Unlikely given the time off but a possibility.
3. McGovern - Would like another dangerous forward, but likely not ready yet.
4. Fisher - Surely straight back in.
5. Stocker - Unlikely but I can see a reason he'd be considered.

Possible OUTS:
1. Phillips - See Kreuzer
2. Dow - Just not impacting enough, in this current role.
3. Lang - Maybe for Cuningham?
4. Deluca - Maybe for Cuningham?
5. Kennedy - Only if sore.

Changes against West Coast -

IN: Kreuzer Fisher Cuningham
OUT: Phillips Dow Deluca/Lang

It doesn't really matter what we do or don't do, as long as we can maintain the same desire and intensity.
A good game from our key backs in Jones & Weitering may go a long way to do something laughable only a few weeks back.

Great test for the club, very excited for the game. I don't share the optimism for a win that some of you have, but this team is more than capable of surprises.

Personally I would like to keep Philips in the side even if Krooz returns, and send Harry to the reserves. Also Fish in for...somebody. Probably Lang.

Eagles had a nice warm game in Alice then an easy game at home: serve them up a cold couple of days in Melbourne and they may come out like ice cubes. We are always a chance if we take it up to them

Lang stays. Dow and De Luca are next in line to go out.

Phillips was great but we can’t play Kreuz, Flip and Cas in the same team in my view.

Not for me. I never want to see TWO pure rucks in the one side. Never works

if it was a decision out of these two id go with deluca..much more physical...which we'll need this week
Real toss of the coin decision both have different strengths to their game, Deluca more physical Lang a more better skilled player but needs to get more of it than he is...

I feel a bit for DeLuca Lang Gibbons & Dow. They are all mids and are playing more team roles, roles they aren't used to and roles that are hard to be consistent 4 quarter performers. Jack in the same boat

At some stage soon we are going to have to try them on ball as we move past Murphy & Curnow. Even before these guys finish the others need to have on ball time. Same in defence with Thomas & Simpson

Not easy to balance development with immediate results. Going to be interesting how we do it.

Fisher, Cuningham and Kruezer in for Dow, Deluca and Phillips would be the go.
Dow still needs to work on his defensive pressure. Not at same level others going at. Deluca stiff but if Cuningham is available and fit enough, got to pick him.

Clearly west coast are a very good team. They gave two points of difference that really set them apart;

Two monster key forwards who they can have every confidence in kicking to at any time. Big games coming up for Liam and Weits.

Great zone defence with good marks and users like Hurn, Barass and OBOM (older brother of Mitch) mop up everything that isn't concise.

Might be the week to bring Mitch back in to play on his brother. Maybe hurn still out. Jack on Barass.?

Sounds like us.

Other teams would be worried combating Casboult & McKay in the air up forward.

We've got good intercept markers and users in the backline with Jones & Weitering. Marchbank before he got injured. SPS/Daisy/Newman/Simmo pretty good users.

Dow goes out before Deluca

Yes. Whilst it was great for Dow to be part of another win, the best thing for him and for the club is to go and play midfield with his future inside midfield partner in Stocker.

Both leading that VFL midfield with 25-30 touches would be great for the club.

Lol no chance McKay gets dropped.

He's been good and providing a strong target, his only real issue at the moment is his set shot goal-kicking.
