AFL Toast RND 22: Defeated The Suns

I’m genuinely excited for the first time in years. I think we can really do some damage if we sneak into the 8. Our list is healthy at the right time of the year for the first time since the early 2000s. Huge opportunity coming up!

One thing I noticed we tweaked up was our habit of stopping at whistles, often giving the oppo a chance to run away with a belated advantage call or free play on. Tend to be more on our toes the entire time now, whistle or not, which really stifled the play on aspects of GC's game. Just didn't stop being relentless with constantly moving until being told to stop for certain.

Good stuff.

Another dominant win over an opponent we should beat easily, which is very pleasing. Shout out to a few guys I thought performed well. Laverde was very impressive against a far bigger opponent. Out marking King is pretty amazing. Cutler continues to build in confidence, and his field kicking was great to watch.

Thought all our lesser lights contributed well today and thats whats really driving this teams improvement. Snelling, Durnham, Guelfi, Perkins, Waterman, Cutler all were very serviceable games. When we have great contributions from our bench and fill ins, always will compete against anyone. Hard selection this week.

For all the pile on, and i was part of it, Dev cut a lot of the crap out of his game and did some nice things
Mason was huge. Thanks tribunal :)

Laverde was fantastic on King. Meant Stewart & Ridley could spend a game mopping up & Hind and Heppell got up the ground nicely.

please don't balls this up next sunday.

Almost done with the replay and man, we really should've won by more. Crazy that we kicked our last goal of the game about five minutes into the last quarter. Waterman in particular should've kicked a bag. Should've had the distance on that set shot that Redman set up, and a couple marks definitely went begging in the forward 50.

No matter what happens next week, I'm glad we won ten games and have our percentage in the 100s. Those two alone make this a good first year of the rebuild. Bring on the Pies!
