The previous 2 weeks really wallpapered over some huge cracks. Those performances against any other sides and we get belted. Played a decent side today that wanted to play for something and got taught a lesson. Plenty of blokes getting games right now who shouldn’t. Again it was an absolute joke that someone like Baldwin got dropped, when there were plenty of others who should’ve be ommited before him.

We have been appalling since the Geelong game - 2 wins (against two disgraceful teams), 4 losses and percentage in the 60s. It has been NM / WCE type stuff from Essendon over the past six weeks - we’ve been close enough to the worst team in the league.

I don’t know what happened after the Adelaide win, but something happened.

Yep pretty much we’ve been the worst in the league since geelong. Have no idea what happened after Adelaide, that first half was the best footy we’ve played in 10 years. The following 7 weeks have been nothing short of disgraceful

Our best this year was competitive with every team. We were organised, desperate, hard working and accountable.

Something happened six weeks ago, not sure what. But we did a total 180.

The boys thought they had turned the corner and played Geelong and got shown exactly how far off they were.
The belief went, then the season got to the hard spot where you have to grind and it was all too much and the wheels fell off.

What hopefully this season shows is that this group in its current iteration will never be anything successful. It needs significant change, the mix in every single area of the ground is wrong.

Played bottom 2 twice so thats a freebie 16pts for me. And we made 3 of those 4 games look hard

Yet we have won 11 games and not actually finished bottom 4. We where bottom 4 last year. This year has fallen away but we did enough to not be bottom 4 this year. Does not make us anything special and I have been very consistent as far as questioning our leadership and players and where we are at. The simple fact is we have been in the next level up from bottom 4 most years and never really fallen to bottom 4 too often. We have enough decent players to keep us from being genuine bottom 4 . Bottom 4 sides lose to bottom 4 sides. The winning margin is irrelevant. The issue is you got seduced and thought we where better than we where before coming crashing back to earth. Are we any good . No not really.
