I wouldn't even drop the axe heaps. Force most of them to play again and get thumped. Seperate the sheep from the goats.

Out: Guelfi, Wright and Menzie

In: Setterfield, Davey and Baldwin

Cox to sub. Laverde forward and Baldwin takes his spot in the backline.
And Hep just keeps cruising on?

Can't transform a poor list in a 12 month period. We are in a waiting period for all our top draftees to come on but we still don't know if they can play.

There isn't one area on the ground that doesn't need work. We need a defender, a midfielder, a forward who can mark, a small forward,

We wait. Best option right now is get McKay, another top 10 draft pick, hope some kids breakout. Repeat.

This was a team that was 1 place BELOW us on
The ladder…I can’t even comprehend how this sh*t happens. I can’t even get my head around and comprehend this team at the moment.

My expectations can’t be too high because I did predict a capitulation of some sort but they actually blew away my lowest of low expectations (if that makes sense)…

But I’m going next week anyway because I’ve been digging the MCG atmosphere this year lol

Speechless…
That’s what happens when you play north and west coast twice, it’s skews our ladder position.

Yet we have won 11 games and not actually finished bottom 4. We where bottom 4 last year. This year has fallen away but we did enough to not be bottom 4 this year. Does not make us anything special and I have been very consistent as far as questioning our leadership and players and where we are at. The simple fact is we have been in the next level up from bottom 4 most years and never really fallen to bottom 4 too often. We have enough decent players to keep us from being genuine bottom 4 . Bottom 4 sides lose to bottom 4 sides. The winning margin is irrelevant. The issue is you got seduced and thought we where better than we where before coming crashing back to earth. Are we any good . No not really.
We had one of the easiest draws in the league this year, take out a few of the easy beats and we're very much bottom 4.

Problem with that is if we where actually bottom 4 we would have lost to sides that where in the bottom 6 and finished bottom 4 . We did not. The easy draw did not really come into it. If we where genuine bottom 4 we would not have won the games. We are where we are at as that is our level. If we do not improve next year we could slip back if others do improve but right now we have enough decent players that keep us from being genuine bottom 4 . I keep hearing about the easiest draw. Bit like the soft draw in the second half of the year that ended up not being so soft .

1. On one hand, I’m pretty rational and can understand that what we just saw is where we are at.

2. I really enjoy (maybe even love) this community. Thank you all for talking such crap so passionately and often with either insight or humour and sometimes even both.

3. I gotta step away for a bit. Seems it’s possible to be both accepting and deeply disappointed. I need to just not pay attention for a bit. Today really affected me in a way that the numerous beltings of recent years haven’t. Suspect I’m just not in the shape to absorb it. See you all in a little while.

PS why is the Essendon GWS jersey clash so gut wrenchingly horrible to witness. Urrgh it’s just total fingernail on a blackboard stuff.
