Can only hope things will turn but atm i can only see another 4 possible wins (Crows, Freo, Roos and Suns). Hence there is no point playing Betts from here on in. Let him play in ressies and he can teach the small forwards there. Play durdin and let him develop in the seniors.
Mate if that’s the case then the club is f*****

The team I would like to pick

B: Kemp Weitering Marchbank
HB: Docharty Jones Saad
C: Carroll Cripps SPS
HF: Martin Curnow Fogarty
F: McGovern McKay Fisher
OB: DeKoning Walsh Curnow
IC: Plowman Williams Stocker Gibbons
EM: Silvagni Ramsay Newman Owies

The team I think can pick

B: Plowman Weitering Stocker
HB: Docharty Jones Saad
C: Newnes Cripps SPS
HF: Owies Casboult Fogarty
F: McGovern McKay Gibbons
OB: Pittonett Walsh Curnow
IC: Parks Williams Cuningham Murphy

This is a game we should be winning, they aren't that crash hot, we've played two good sides without getting blown away so we aren't that bad.

Right. Time to get myself out of this negative head space regarding the state of the Blues.

The season isn't over until its over. We've got 6 or 7 of our best 22 out, and still alot of untested talent that needs to come through.

We must scrape out a win this week. Absolutely flogging them would be ideal but we simply must win.

We then go into the doggies the next week with a chance to balance our win loss ratio against the top of the table side.

We usually match up well against the doggies so we won't be without a shot.

After that we will start getting a flood of talent back for the back end of the year.

First step to getting the season back on track is a win this week. Un negotiable. We must win.

Eddie kicks three and we probably come back and win it, so arguing to get rid of him is insane.
Eddie didn’t kick 3 and we did not come back and win it. If Harry kicked 45 we would have won and set a record in doing so. If your auntie had balls... Ifs don’t win games of footy and neither does a 34 year old that can’t kick a goal from 20 metres out. The Eddie people remember would have kicked 2 goals minimum and probably 3, but that not the eddie we have now.

Honey should play this week for Betts. He was very powerful yesterday. Has a lot of presence. Works his arse off. Hits up on the lead.

Why all the talk about SOS btw? Didn’t they say 3-4 weeks just this week?

From the man himself, JSOS. Said hopefully he’ll be up for selection this week but that decision will be made above him.

Agreed.
When is the heat going to be applied to our so called recruits?
They are being paid 3+million per year and have delivered didly squat.

Saad-goes missing and is great at filling up his stats when the game is over
Williams-Saw him the first quarter then disappeared
Martin-Played 1 match, and we have 5 or 6 players that could fill his role
McGovern-below average player earning above average wages

So we can't win this week? OK then.

There won’t be much respite from the pain until about Rd 10 against the Hawks and they aren’t push over either.
We urgently need to get our better personal on the park.Meanwhile we have to suck it in.
Let’s see how the Bombers go against the Pies, but this game too it could be a another battering for us, we’re not confident on the park and our skills level is embarrassingly exposed against quality opposition.

I'd like to see JSOS (if fit) and Honey come in and possibly LOB as we need someone who can kick. Give Dow and Setterfield another week in the reserves to see if they can back up yesterday's form.

Dow, Setterfield and Honey all were outstanding in the Magoo's, all should be evivated on that form alone, include Kennedy as well.

Eddie, Gibbons, Newnes and Levi out.

Eddie sub.

2nd ruck shared by McGov and Jones (when down back)
Honey should, but leave Dow and Setterfield exactly where they are.

JSOS mentioned that he was hoping to be back this week, but I doubt we see him.

TDK I'm assuming will play limited minutes, if at all (if he was playing a full game, I'd be doing it in the ones and playing Cas in ruck).

LOB again looked like a VFL player. Anyone who thinks his kicking was amazing was just seeing what they wanted to see. Made some very nice passes, but turned several over.

Setters was easily our best player and should be recalled, imo, to play in the guts/rotating fwd.

Dow was good at times. One of our best, but not enough to be recalled imo.

Honey makes mistakes, but has some speed and power and it's worth seeing what he can produce. If he's willing to chase like a maniac up forward, then his speed should allow him to have just as much impact as Eddie/Gibbo. I'd be giving him the chance.

Philp did very little. Same goes for Williamson.

Durdin not showing anything yet. Presumably adjusting to the speed/congestion of the game.

Parks should be brought straight back in, if deemed fit.

Ins: Setters, Honey (pending fitness: Parks, JSOS)

More than likely we go the conservative route and stick with the older players to try and exploit Bombers youth. In my view, provides an opportunity to hand the reigns over to the young guys and give them the responsibility to get us a win. Not a gimme by any stretch - Bombers have been playing ok. Strong between the arcs.

My desire this week is to see lowering of the eyes with our I50s and finding other avenues to goal. To assist, I'd also like to see the poor kicks - Cripps, Ed, Cotts, Doc, Pitt etc - making sure the ball is in the hands of Cunners, Walsh, Williams for the i50 kick.

I really hope they don’t listen to him, if he plays then Russell should be sacked on the spot.

We need JSOS for the rest of the year not for a week or two

Time to rotate Harry for 10% time in the ruck. 204cms but we have to keep playing Cas as there isn’t another chop out option.

And I’m perfectly fine with him getting a few knees to the ribs or getting crunched a couple times.

23rd Man - Levi Casboult

Dow - Just put him in the guts and say go play free like you did in the 2's (Better developing in the 1's instead of the 2's)
Silvagni - If fit no brainer
Owies - How many goals do you need to kick to get an opportunity
Ramsey - Deserves a crack, been solid for a month.

Williams - Needs to go back (experiment over) part time mid only, pushes Plowman to the bench as 7th defender.
McGovern - 2nd ruck and 3rd tall defender, his a better defender than forward
Stocker - Teague **** your data, just play him through the middle where he belongs
