If i threw a football to a Swedish backpacker they would have a better ball drop and kicking technique than Casboult.
The last 2 years have been embarrassing.
Betts was cooked 3 years ago.
As for Murphy played better this week but still hates contact.
Get him to 300 then see ya later.
Newnes should not play again this year.

Double team at all times and don't give away a free kick. Casboult is a witches hat, McGovern is the only other threat who is coming into some goalkicking form. We also don't tackle inside 50, so focus on Harry aerially and rebound at will.

You forgot to tell them not to trip over Eddie when he’s inevitably lying on the floor after a contest

Out - Betts, Gibbons
In - Honey, Setterfield

SPS to play Gibbons half forward flank role. Newnes, Cotterall and a few others very lucky.
mcGovern to play decoy role and drag Ridley away from play (Mihochek did this brilliantly against Weitering round 2). Leaving McKay to dominate against undermanned Bombers defence.
Casboult to stay and hopefully stretch defence.
Lots of doom and gloom - we should win this one then have our bunnies the doggies the week after. 4-4 with a few players to come back into the side.

That is a fair point.

My riposte would be that you are only as good as you last performance.
As annoying as we have been, we've been highly competitive during games except for long lapses. These lapses didn't lose us games against lesser opposition. Essendon are somewhere in the lesser opposition area. But they are more likely to run with it if we give them too long in charge, unlike Freo and GC

Right. Time to get myself out of this negative head space regarding the state of the Blues.

The season isn't over until its over. We've got 6 or 7 of our best 22 out, and still alot of untested talent that needs to come through.

We must scrape out a win this week. Absolutely flogging them would be ideal but we simply must win.

We then go into the doggies the next week with a chance to balance our win loss ratio against the top of the table side.

We usually match up well against the doggies so we won't be without a shot.

After that we will start getting a flood of talent back for the back end of the year.

First step to getting the season back on track is a win this week. Un negotiable. We must win.

You talkin about me Willis??????

One things for sure.
It's a crystal shame that Nick Cox will be wearing an Essendon jumper and not a Carlton one.
Oh and Phillips will probably destroy Pittonet😭

Starting to think spending 1.5 million on 2 back flankers who have never been all Australian or won a BnF was not such a good idea.
Pick 8 for Cox would have been nice.

Cox was actually our pick, Reid was who we took with the Saad pick.

100 games up for Weitering this week against the Bombers. If you can't lift for him, then you shouldn't be playing.

Not sure what a crystal shame is but please don't go with the nick cox thing. Surely enough people have said that our #8 pick was downgraded to 10 with academy selections and used on Archie Reid.

Oh and by the way, based on this weekends performances we will beat *.

Newnes, Gibbons should be dropped and one of Murphy/Betts should be “rested”
With the other “resting” the following week Kennedy to the 2s for a full game

Cas is horribly out of form and probably still
Carrying a knee niggle. Would love for Teague to change it up.....if we can

Ins to come from Setters, Honey, Dow, LOB and hopefully one or both of Parkes and JSOS are ready to return

Can’t wait to name a side with Fisher, Martin, TKD, Newman, JSOS, Parkes.....(CC....Kemp)

30% of the side!!

Agree with that but probably best to play him in his natural position. Which seems to be midfield. Or even further up the ground. Putting a player prematurely in defence can really knock the confidence out of them. I’m wondering how he feels after kicking that own goal.
At least rotate him in and out.
