Phillipou is nowhere near Houston’s level, and it would take an amazing jump to get near it.

mattaes at this stage is a bit of a bust considering how early he was picked. There’s still hope there that he can develop and he’s got skills as a forward but the idea he was going to be the next bont / big mid has taken a massive dive.

He’s closer to steak knives than main part of any deal.

This is not the type of experienced players North are looking for. They are looking for relatively cheap ones who aren't in their prime but are solid enough. Houston won't be there for North's next flag tilt, they are that far off. And its a huge price for them to pay for someone who won't be there

Essendon are really the only ones from that list of 5 that would have the resources for the trade and a need for a player like Dan. Collingwood, Geelong and Hawthorn don't really have the resources given they have it tied up in their own targets like Smith, Barrass etc. Houston is definitely not within Richmond's profile
