He might not get to Hawthorn but you can’t blame him if he wanted there.
A club that knows how to win premierships, that’s clearly on the rise again after renewal, playing exciting high-scoring football versus a club that used to know how to win premierships but is now as stale as a bottle of piss, playing the same failure of a gameplan under a failure of a coach but that after 12 years is too spineless to sack him because of the optics!

There is no point trading Houston and going for a rebuild if change isn't made from the top. We can't let Ken have a 4th rebuild. If Houston wants out because of Ken he needs to publicly say that. Would be happy to trade him if he said that, because the spanner he would throw in the club would likely clear our almost everyone.

He’s not wrong. Unless Pickett actively wants out, he won’t be put up for trade regardless of whether it’s “fair” or not.

This is true, but we could absolutely get in his ear with a bigger offer than his current contract to see if we could prise him out. If we manage to do that and he actively wants out, where does it go from there? This is probably what happened last year with duursma.
We told Duursma to check out his trade options, I wonder who goes this year where Bergmans name keeps appearing.

It isn't our decision, Dan wants to go.
The club hasn't said explore your options its been instigated by Houston. The club does however have the power to get maximum return and this is where I fear we will lose.
2 first rounders has to be the starting point. Then it'll be a case of where those 2 first rounders are positioned. 3 years left on the contract, an All-Australian playing at his peak. Shouldn't settle for anything less than a top 10 pick + another first rounder

Shame about the likeliness of Houston leaving. Clutch player which we don't seem to have too many of but hopefully with Hinkley gone that spread will improve.
But if we can improve the list with additional 1st round picks then it's a must trade with the abundance of HB's on our list.

In a hypothetical world, If Dan leaves and we get 2 first rounders and also Ken leaves, thats a net win in my book. If Ken stays, thats a huge net loss
The players don't hate Stinkers. It's us who hate him because he's a loser. Why would a young guy who's getting paid HUGE coin with nobody pushing him to be ruthless hate the boss.
Loads of people on here have similar stories I heard it from a players parent they love him.
