Rory Lobb: D

Put up the type of performance that justifies Luke Beveridge’s decision early in the season to play Lobb in the reserves. Eventually finished the game with an ankle injury.

That ankle injury sounds season career ending.

Surely North are jumping in here. He's no world beater but he'd be serviceable until North draft that KPF to pair with Larkey. Would cost SFA pick wise too

It’s just not a good fit.

Adds experience but if they’re recruiting someone at that age, he needs to bring more to the table.

Lobb just doesn’t.

Lobb is no long-term solution, just a stop gap until new recruit/ draftee comes good

That's true wherever he goes, not just at North Melbourne.

North aren't in a position to bring in a 32 year old just because he's better than what they've got. That's sound in theory or on paper but footy clubs look for cultural fits and Rory just clearly isn't that.

If he's a leader they should look at it; if he's not they're better off going with what they've got, or looking elsewhere.

Rory Lobb isn't moving any needle for a young rebuilding side screaming out for leadership and experience. If anything it might move it in the wrong direction.

This guy is the definition of getting your ambition confused with your ability.

With any luck he retires and doesn’t scam any other clubs into taking him on.

I know nothing about the bloke personally but what’s the neg on his poor attitude? Wanting to switch teams purely to get a game of footy seems pretty reasonable

Never made much sense to me. He seems a fairly likeable guy.

He has a history of signing front-ended contracts and then asks for a trade in the lighter years.

On top of that, from a Freo perspective, he had a public crack at our coach for not coaching him 'correctly' despite coming off a career-best year. How's he being coached now?

I haven't paid too much attention, but he had some pretty bizarre social media posts which seemed to be his way of having a sook at being left out of the Bulldogs firsts. A fringe player who thinks he's above playing reserves football and is willing to go public with it isn't a very attractive proposition.

For a team like North Melbourne, the tools he has seem to fit like a glove. But at least as much as that, North needs to bring in established players who will be leaders and set the standards, whatever level they find themselves playing at. Will Lobb do that, or will he throw the toys out of the cot when things aren't going his way?

Wouldn’t want him anywhere near the young talent if I’m North.

Petty probably leaves to crows at the end of year. Brown is cooked, Schache is too soft and probably be delisted, MacDonald cant play forward anymore. It leaves a forward line of Rooyen and Daniel and no mature kpf to take on the top kpd.
Our forward line is shit enough without adding Petty. No thanks
