Well it will be interesting if this seasons serve a different performance to previous. A thumping may show a bigger hunger, keen to see JHF

Things will never be perfect, but I'm keen as for the footy to be back and Port to be playing. Seems silly to write off enjoying a full season of football out of bitterness.
For me it is more self preservation.

I'm sick of being let down.

With the forecast heat, I can totally see this being a game where we'll have the battery sign held up on the boundary early in the game. Conserve, conserve, conserve.... Enthralling stuff.

Excited to see JHF after a full preseason, Rozee restoring faith in the #1, how Esava and Aliir work, a slightly bulked up Butters throwing out GAJ vibes, and if Burgoyne, Sinn, Jones, Mead can crack the 22 and become regulars.

Not so excited for all things KK but I’m not letting those fuktards dictate my emotions any longer.

I'm not a big fan of optimism and pessimism but prefer to relax in the realm of realism as best I can.

Lots of good things happening with the playing group, a lot of talent, up and coming players, new leadership group, etc but also an average and stale coaching staff that has had many opportunities and consistently failed on numerous fronts.

It is going to be those two elements that come together as they always do and if the playing group can go beyond the limitations of the coaching which is very hard but not impossible to do.

Round 1 is imminent. Hope springs eternal.

Just like r1 last year when we cut an eventual grand finalists to ribbons at home and won by 54 points

Only to lose to the same team 25 weeks later by 48 points

Then again we did also beat GWS by 51 points at home in r22 then lost to them by 25 when the game had actual significance about it.

Tally ho into 2024! Where we are a very good chance of bottling our year no matter how good we are

I just hope that Luke Schuey starts a fight with Ken on the boundary line and Ken punches him and gets suspended for the rest of 2024 and 2025. I know it may be unlikely but if Leicester City can win the EPL then anything's possible.

None of it matters particularly because we could go undefeated and top, but as soon as we set foot in to the firey cauldron of finals we all know what will happen.

Yeesssss!! Footy is back!!

Can't wait tbh.

Getting the old routine back. The walk through North Adelaide with the missus, a quick pint in the Oak, across the road for a pastie at the bakery then the walk down the hill to the game. Seeing all the people I've been sat near for years, the kids being grumpy teenagers now, accidentally singing the oppositions team song as they are all so catchy, not joining in with the clapping because it annoys me being off beat, then heartily singing NTUA before that beautiful buzzer sound and my abuse of Jonas, sorry Dixon, begins! Intermittently peppered with proclaiming my love for Butters and agreeing that JHF is going to be a legend with everyone around me. Then the sigh from everyone when I crack out my first....bloody Hinkley of the game!

HECK YEAH!

Yep this sucks.

It is why we can't even enjoy the minor round wins.

Been doing some digging and research
Can't believe the typical Vic bias media hasn't picked up on this

Travis Boak if selected will break the record for most AFL games played for Port Adelaide
