Not politically correct I know, but tend to agree. Auskick, no, but maybe junior boys under 14/15 level.

Scramble, tackle, smother, tackle again, fall over, hospital handball, kick to nowhere, tackle, run around to try to create some space, turnover. Rinse and repeat.........

Think we've been mightily spoiled when it comes to women's elite sports by our superstar women's cricket team.

Hope AFLW gets there eventually, but it's not anywhere near it yet............

Ellie was absolutely awful until the last quarter when she backed herself and played on her instincts.
The girls are overcoached.

yeah as i posted, Ellie 15 disp 40% efficiency, Hosking 22 disp 37% disp efficiency, Lynch 5 disp 20% disp efficiency
not flash when giving away more than half your disposals

overcoached?.... coach did seem to be lacking any creativity, other than Poppy Kelly behind the ball in 3rd Q
problem was fwd line looked really sus against a defensive heavy Geelong game plan

D'Arcy was awful, she's not the answer up there anymore, should have given Woods or Peck a go with KB out

It is a skill to kick into the breeze, and we often do not adjust. I had a long talk with Ferg some years ago about kicking skills and he acknowledged then that the Club really doesn't do much in this space. They work with what the players come with apparently. This is playing out in the AFLW particularly. Check how many times a kick elevates more than necessary at the cost of distance particularly, but also for lack of accuracy even into a light breeze.

It's a skill that requires considerable thought and even more repetition. It's easy to explain, just harder to execute. In the fire of battle you revert to habits, some good, many not so. I have witnessed may young women and girls try and kick the belly of the football because it is a bigger target and a little more forgiving, and when pressed, it doesn't hurt their foot as much - that is the habit part. Witness that kick Mon Conti did in the second Qtr - into the breeze, a rush on the run hit the belly of the ball and it floated fortuitously into the arms of Wakefield.

Players have never been better at the trick kicks (again because of repetition), but the real money kick is still the drop punt, weighted or kicked low by foot.

Kb is a good kick for goal , sadly no one else even close , CW has never been great despite having a solid looking kicking technique, Ellie Mc I’m sure would be a good key forward however she’ll impact games more from the midfield , I thought she was warming into the game and was hitting her straps in 4q , get young wood into the team

D'arcy has never been good forward at the Tiges - I've read she was a forward at Pies - it's not obvious! I still think she has a role down back becuase she can judge the flight of the ball better than most still.

as Phar Ace says her best and only position is down back......but Graham and Sheerin down there now, Cordner coming back next season, for how long???
our backline and midfield are looking super solid

Poppy Kelly played her best game for us impact wise, better times ahead for her and us

Seymour kicked a goal and had a couple of nearly moments in the goal square marking.....worth persisting
would rather her kicking for goal than Wakefield and particularly S.Hosking (Castagna bad)

yes KB back in and injury free is a becoming truly important to our fwd line.....if there was any doubt, there is none now
our fwd line without her is a worry, the worst part of the team ATM

we can keep an oppo to a low score, hold our own against most midfields, but can we kick enough goals ???

It always risky to go all edgey after one game - I think the whole AFLW Club would have been disappointed with that outcome, especially as it was within our control. To be honest, my biggest concern will arrive if the Molan holds her spot with 10 possessions (8 handballs). It is not about her as a person (like LOTW perhaps), it's about what she didn't and couldn't do which became lame get out handballs, and plodding with the ball. To be honest, I was surprised at her game time.

I'd imagine the coach would roll with most of the others for another game, it's what you do, but they go on notice about on field behaviours, what is acceptable and what won't be accepted. We need a better set of disciplines in the game, routines, at stoppages, in forward 50 entries, in kicking. Our manic became maniac.

Nah still a few others that I thought just way off the level lead by coxy and Williams , depends how many return how much deeper we axe , Jess hosko and McClelland , Definitely ,, no idea on branc
