Only thing which May lesson from a possible 2-3 is that she claims was looking directly at ball and was t aware of umpires position relative to her and opponent. My gut says she gets two so anything less is lucky ,,,,worst thing is it’s just screwed our year , as anything we could to rise above where we at involved her
I worry it's a two weeker (or more), as all AFL and AFLW players have been repeatedly warned about protecting the umpires exit path whilst they are backing out of the throw up area is paramount, and umpires even signal their planned exit. Players are told to not obstruct that exit. Under normal circumstances you could argue careless, but this is not normal, ie player on player.

There have been numerous minor trips through the season. I fear this could become a soapbox moment for the AFL / AFLW! We shall see.

Yeah, it was Hicks manning up Gee and with Graham manning Toogood a little too wide. This probably proved her undoing

Amber Clarke (who cut us up) who had just marked unopposed after Conti let a tackle slip on Cain, waited for Toogood to lead laterally with Gee a couple of metres up the ground.

The problem was Hicks lost touch on Gee when she turned to look at the ball in flight, Gee had slipped back a couple metres and managed to put a block on Graham still trying to get to Toogood for the marking contest that ironically never came.

As the kick was short, Hicks actually had a chance to mark it but she had come forward just a little too much, and Gee's pushing block on Graham meant her momentum was the opposite to Gee, and this put Gee metres clear running to goal getting the bobbling ball - end of story for Graham who was then the player well off Toogood and Hicks tried to get back was too far forward to get near gee for a tackle.

The mistake really was more in the beginning with her playing too wide of Toogood, who lets face it, is a bloody smart player. Gee cleverly used Graham!
Hicks contested work like most small players is useless , gets brushed off like a mozzie , her best work is mopping up ground ball and is a reasonably effective kick , was a greasy night but didn’t a ball go straight thru her hands and result in a goal

There’s a bit in that , watch how jockey sized hicks gets tossed out of the way , sheerin is built like a triathlete, her opponent went literally flying like she was thrown down the stairs

Rule is pretty clear after being amended in 2023.

(A) INTENTIONAL CONTACT WITH AN UMPIRE - A Player may now be found guilty of Intentional Contact with an Umpire by pushing or holding an opponent into an umpire or their direct path

Strength, size imbalance is totally irrelevant.

The only escape for Sheerin would have been if the contact with the umpire was incidental and given the umpire took quite a fall there's little hope downgrading to careless contact.

Hopefully just a week.

Such a disappointment, I’d argue our most valuable player in recent weeks
Shevs needs to step up from what’s been a very ordinary year so far from her

Wow 200 fine , that made my night , I was fully resigned to a suspension , well done and we can look forward to a huge game v the hawks and beyond , love sheerin she’s a gun player in this side career best form
Amazing, some sanity prevailed. Given the work that was being put into Sheerin by Nanscawen to stop her getting to the ball, pleased the Tribunal was unconvinced about the 'intention'.

"Sheerin was sent straight to the Tribunal after the initial charge, but the Tribunal, chaired by Renee Enbom KC with panellists David Neitz and Michelle Dench, was unconvinced the contact was intentional and forceful, therefore the charge was downgraded to careless, attracting a fixed financial sanction of $200. Had Sheerin been found guilty of making intentional contact, it would have been up to the Tribunal to determine an appropriate sanction."

Right now that that’s outve the way…

One thing I thought was flipping great was when Miller was off getting tested Gabby pushed right up and really attacked it a couple of times. I thought it was awesome leadership, Miller has been really good this year and I hope we really run at the Hawks from the back half on the weekend.
If we can get it going from D50 we’re going to be hard to deal with.

Brennan should’ve had at least another with a Hollywood check side instead of a left foot snap and two snaps that bounced away from the goal line.
Finals are going to be during the day and if isnt raining I hope she marks more than she had been.
Should have marked the ball that was the last play of the game.

Sarah Hosking, hamstring

"Sarah was pulled from the (Week 9) game in the final minutes. She has a pretty significant hamstring injury. We took her for a scan yesterday, so we'll have a good review of that today with the doctor and with Sarah herself, and then we'll see what her plan is going forward. But, she won't be available for selection this week."

Bec Miller, hamstring tightness

"Bec developed hamstring tightness late in the third quarter. After consultation with the doctor and the physio, we thought it was best for her not to return to the game, just to risk anything further happening. She's pulled up really well from the flight and from what she presented yesterday. So, we're hoping that she'll be right to get through training today (Tuesday), and we'll test her really well on Thursday and just make sure she's good to go. But, she's tracking quite well."

Imogen Brown, ankle

"Imogen returned to scrimmage on the weekend, which was great. She managed to get through a full scrimmage game so will be up for selection again this week."

Katelyn Cox (ACL), Montana McKinnon (ACL), Shelby Knoll (ACL)

"(They) were able to come to Darwin with us on the weekend, which was really good. For that balance of them being around the team, but also having access to our physios and doctors while they were away. So, they got some really good sessions in while they were away and were able to get amongst the community. They're tracking well. (Montana) and (Katelyn) are still developing a lot of strength in the gym and balancing that with still some really good recovery, while (Shelby) returned to contact last week, which is a great progression for her and she'll be coming in more and more drills."

Amelia Peck (MCL)

"(She's) currently in a brace, she didn't have to have any surgery, which was great. She'll return to normal processes in her day-to-day brace. It is tracking well, she was also able to come away with us on the weekend. We'll get her strength up in the gym and hope that she'll continue to progress over the next couple of weeks."

Good point with kb , she’s actually got a good left peg so was surprised to go with checkside same fk up as lynch made . And yea she struggled with greasy conditions even that last play she had a couple of bites and then grassed it , top of goal sq

Surely they can’t demonstrate that it was intentional
The push was intentional, that much is true. However it wasn't intentional to push into the path of, or at the umpire. That was a careless action still. Thought the AFL would try and make an example of this on behalf of the umpires under the misguided belief that it is for the good of the game and the protection of the umpires.

Game changing decision :tearsofjoy:
All 6 people that watch should join me and they might take notice.
