Brown will play on Stringer. If he can play reasonably well on Buddy, he can match it with Stringer coming back from injury.

I reckon Carlisle will play on whoever is forward out of English and Boyd.

They have a small forward line but their smalls have the ability to hurt us and kick goals. Geary will be vital in the game and if one of their smalls gets off the leash, Geary will then have to try and shut them down.

Bulldogs have the better skilled team and I would give us the edge in toughness/the contest. I feel like this game will have many momentum swings and the team that can actually convert their chances will be the winner, as both teams have struggled with accuracy this year.

I really hope we don't end up regretting this. Paddy as our main forward is so much pressure but will get balls kicked to him more though.

Minch for Dunstan is no brainer :)

#1draft pick he'll be right

Well I'm a lot less confident of beating the Dogs now without Riewoldt, even less than fully fit he's still one of our best players.

I know he's been due for a rest but it's disappointing to have him miss such an important game and with a bye next week, if he needs a 2 week break then I would've preferred he missed our game against Adelaide which we'll probably lose with or without him.

Also with Riewoldt out I would've thought Bruce was a must have to give us a mobile marking target that can roam around the ground like Riewoldt does.

Membrey isn't a genuine key forward and Paddy on form so far doesn't look capable of being the main key forward for us either so Bruce would at least provide some insurance should they both struggle to have an impact.

It wouldn't be so bad if we had Hickey as our ruckman as he can at least push forward or back and be a marking target but Longer isn't capable of that.

Yes Paddy! Only way he's gonna learn and get better! We just need to get it in quick unlike Sydney with chip chip forward of Centre

People keep saying Bruce can roam but he hasn't exactly shown it by producing results.

Membrey plays way bigger than his 188cm suggests. He's one of the best inside 50 marks in the comp at the moment.

Did we not beat Collingwood without Riewoldt ? Also he was virtually unsighted against GWS. Dogs are a different side then Collingwood for sure but we can win without him. I think we are a sneaky chance. Does anyone think Bevo is being a bit cheeky with his selections ? Gambling on their midfield controlling the match and being able to stream down the field at will and kick goals. Thats not gonna happen.

Led WC over in Perth for all bar 6 minutes without Nick as well and could have been as much as 40 points up at 1/4 time in that game had we not blown so many chances. Also didn't have Armo or Koby in that game and Steven punctured his lung as early as mid way through the 3rd quarter!

Think it is insanity not playing Bruce without Riewoldt.

Now instead of the ball going to ground, it'll be marked by the Dogs and straight back at us.
Against the dogs last year and a lot of times this year, we have been bombing it on the heads of our Key forwards which makes us predictable and easy to read for intercepting defenders. Without Roo and Bruce we'll definitely be lowering our eyes a lot more and hitting up the shorter targets.

Hopefully our skills are on and we can execute. If we do and our pressure is on, we should win this.

I'd expect to see Acres spend more time forward this week. Keeping DMac while bringing in Sav means one of those two needs to take Acres spot on the wing.

Savage on the wing. DMac a way better defender.

To be honest, with our bombing midfield, I see Paddy as being benched mid game and as others have said, we will be lucky to kick a reasonable score. Can't see who the leaders are going to be on field..Montagna was woeful last week, Mav did very little and the captain just went OK, so hopefully someone can have a blinder of a game. I hope Minch does well, as he should never have been dropped for the Swans match.

Good changes IMO. I still have a lot of time for Minchi. When either he or Wright is in the side there is a noticeable difference in our forward pressure.

I rate us a really good chance in this one, whereas I definitely thought we would lose last week. Was going to post as such, but I was on a week ban after visiting the Blues board the week before.

Saints by 12.
