No Hipwood is a plus for the Lions…

We should be hurting after that abomination yesterday… hopefully it fuels us as the useless Tiges have played these guys into form…and the AFL have done their usual fecking of us scheduling this one at Marvel when they know Brissy are s**t at the G

If no other injuries I’d be saying off the top of my head:
In Sicily and Scrim
Out Breust and Serong

Be great to see Sicily finally freed up if we play two key defenders and he’s fit

B Mitchell Frost Scrim
HB Sicily Phillips Impey
C Jiath Newcombe Amon
HF MacDonald Chol Moore
F Hardwick Dear Ginnivan
R Meek Nash Day
Int Weddle Worpel Mackenzie D’Ambrosio
Sub Watson
Just a little tweak.

B Mitchell Frost Scrim
HB Sicily Phillips Impey - D'ambrosio
C Jiath Newcombe Amon
HF Weddle Chol Moore - Macdonald
F Hardwick Dear Ginnivan
R Meek Nash Day - Worpel Mackenzie
Sub Watson

Love to see Weddle as HHF pace to burn and can kick a goal from 50 no sweat plus can take a big grab.
With Jiath and Amon playing wing, it is a good spot for a lad of his talents.

BACKLINE
Seamus Mitchell - Ethan Phillips - Jack Scrimshaw
James Sicily - Sam Frost - Karl Amon

MIDFIELD
Massimo D'Ambrosio - Will Day - Changkuoth Jiath
Lloyd Meek - Jai Newcombe - James Worpel

FORWARDLINE
Jack Ginnivan - Calsher Dear - Dylan Moore
Blake Hardwick - Mabior Chol - Nick Watson

INTERCHANGE
Josh Weddle - Conor Nash - Cam MacKenzie - Jarman Impey - Connor MacDonald (sub)

If Phillips comes on, it changes everything.

I see 4 winnable games coming up. If Gunners plays make it strictly defense please. Punky on field or Box Hill-Either _hit or get off the pot. Dear sub. Tag team Zork-start as hes walking up the race. As an added incentive play the last 30secs of radio commentary from Port game.

Hawks by 5 goals.
Like this... alot... essentially playing with 2 tall defenders + 4 midsized ones in the fact CJ and Weddle can push back and intercept/defend at a high level.

I like this team Dewyyyyy.
No Gunners or Punky... but the only one to drop for one of them is the Wizard.

After the bye I hear. Incredibly disappointing.
Kind of bitter sweet... because if Lewis was playing Dear probably wouldnt be in the team.. As much as id like Lewis back, at least Dear dampens the loss a bit.

Think you could play Lewis, Dear and Chol in the one forward line

If Lewis ever gets fit then the set-up should be:

Moore - Lewis - Ginnivan
Watson - Chol - Dear
Absolutely agree.

I'd love the midfield and defense to setup and look like

Rucks: Meek
Midfielders: Day, Newcombe, MacKenzie, Ward, Worpel, Nash. (One would drop out of a BEST 23)
Wingers: D'Ambrosio, Jiath (Weddle/Amon rotation) - Morrison depth.

And
Backline:
Scrimshaw - Frost - Sicily
Hardwick - Phillips - Seamus

Weddle rotation & utility, Hardwick able to go forward, Amon wing/hb.

I don’t want to see Gunston or Bruest play in the team together again - love them both but it doesn’t make sense to me at this stage of their career and where we are at

I’d love to see Chol move back and Sicily play forward - clubs are playing through Sicily a bit this year let’s flip the script a bit.

I hope this loss doesn’t haunt the club too much

Were still developing and if their fresh, set standards for the others and help teach structure, so what if they are almost done. Think it's pretty special they end up finishing around the same time back together at the hawks.

Pencil in round 23 for maybe the last time they will both be on the G together.

Enjoy two of the greatest to ever do it even if they are slowing down.

He simply hasn’t been dreadful in all 4 appearances.

Calm down on the hyperbole.

Making short confident comments doesn’t make them correct.

His best game by a long way was round 1, 12 touches and kicked 0.2.

He’s been caught holding the ball as many times than he’s kicked at goal since then. We can’t keep him in the team now based on footy he produced last year.

Time to move on from Bruest and Gunston. They no longer improve our team. Insurance only, they can mentor the kids at Box Hill, then a farewell game @ MCG round 23.

In - Scrim, Finn (to tag Neale)
Out - Serong, Bruest
Wizard to sub.

If z Sicily is fit, maybe Weddle could do with a week off.
