Just for my understanding, why would there be extra trades this week if it's best 18?
Best 18 IS the concession, isn't it?
Spreading R12 Byes over two rounds is good, isn't it ?

Trouble is I don't think this will be the last fixture modification

Carnage is coming

Nope .....the idea of moving the Crows v Rich game to NSW is to avoid the Crows having 2 weeks quarantine

Moving COLL v GEEL won't happen, as both teams will have to quarantine ......can't see Marshall allowing a fly in / fly out scenario

Anyone got a hot take on what all this means and how to play the situation for best advantage?

Presuming Hawks and Suns have their bye this round and then play all three of the normally scheduled by rounds.

Bad for - teams that already own Hawks and Suns premos (but not a disaster due to best 18 only scoring), they have to play without one or several primos this round compared to other teams, and then other teams likely to trade those primos in for cover over all three byes.

Good for - guns and rookies type teams, with more “super-primos” but also some really weak rookies still on field, because they won’t have to count the weak rookie scores and the effect of super-primos going massive will be intensified.

How to play it?
- less need to do an upgrade this week? Maybe unless you were getting a super-primo type.
- an opportunity to do a double downgrade? Or a downgrade and a side? Those sort of trades might normally put you an upgrade behind, but best 18 will protect you from that to an extent.
- maybe not trade or do a single downgrade to build bank?

It is deadset doing my head in.

I’d be shocked if it’s the only game not moved/delayed.

Rip my touk pod 😭 everyone will jump on now
Will get Whitfield Instead now this week

daaaaaaaaaaaamn coivid clusters I’m getting flashbacks to last year
You're moaning about losing your Touk POD ......but have no qualms jumping on my POD Whitfield

You're off the xmas card list !

All the coaches that took the prudent course of guns n rookies, and subsequently still fielding 4-6 rookies are laughing all the way to the bank. Its delicious.
This is what I was thinking. Not there would be many teams with 6 rooks still on field would there? But teams that have been going slow, fielding more rookies, but also getting top shelf primos will be advantaged by an extra round of 18scorers.

Don't lose too much sleep .....currently it means the R12 Bye has been weakened by the GC / Hawks bye being brought forward a week ....no biggie with 18 a side

BUT .....no use doing too much planning at this point, as a lot of things may change in the next 48 hours

The bigger issue maybe the loss of homeground advantage for some teams .....RICH v CROWS game going to NSW potentially, robs RICH of their strong homeground advantage

Lol Whitfield ain’t gonna be a pod for long you monster. Gonna be a very popular d6

No one was looking at touk until tonight which at 1% ownership and me being 1 of 2 teams in the top 1k going into this week with him a glorious pod. That number will grow to 100 by next game which ruins a potential rank riser

Its flawed you could you could bring in reeves for a guaranteed 82 @ 123k. Ruck prob means not practical but you get the point. If a premo mid goes down you could get miller for 114 points and what happens when the game is actually played.

Just too many issues with that solution i think.
Sure go ahead, they are taking a calculated risk for one score

Every option is flawed to some degree, it's the fairest of them that you'd want

Or mitigates a disaster.

Yeah great move AFL, so totally fu** a lot of SC punters whole seasons instead!

You should really blame the crew who run South Australian quarantine. Tonight the South Australian Government announced border restrictions with Victoria.

It's akin to throwing crap on someone and blaming them because they smell.

Locking doesnt work what happens if someone planned to cash flynn for reeves this week to fund an upgrade?
Locking Melb/Ess players in Round 3, 2020 would have affected Round 11 trades for 2021.

Yup.

**** the SA government. Nanny state tossers.

I flew to Melbourne Sunday for work, spent less than 24 hours in Melbourne, wore a mask on both flights and in all taxis and Ubers, didn't go to the Port v Collingwood game or any hot spot sites, yet now have to subject myself to three COVID tests in the next 13 days and isolate until my negative result comes back.

Oh and I can't go to the football on Sunday.

On the plus side this crap will ruin everyone else's SC season and bring it into line with the dumpster fire that is my season.

The counter argument to this is ....if you have 4-5 Rookies still on-field, but also have Titch, Impey, and Jiath .....you're going to be in a world of pain compared to teams that have minimal rookies on-field

This is me, I have 4 rookies on field and 4 Hawks players.

removing the Hawks players to bench means I have to field 8 rookies plus players like LDU who are struggling.

Yes I will lose 4 low scores but I’m likely to have to keep some stinkers as well

That said .....given you have 4 Hawks players, probably means you were going to have a stinker of a R12 anyway

Without knowing your trade situation, I would be looking at how you can bolster your R12 round, given you'll have those 4 Hawks players .....hopefully you could make up some ground

If I double down this week I will still have 5 rookies on field and titch and impey, but I can loop one in the mids and one in the forwards so not as bad as it seems and gets me 400k
