Glass can kick. He hesitates which is the killer. Cuz and Jones are as inept as our current mids so no point in bringing them in (or having them on the list). Glass as a mid has merit as he offers something different.
Glass should play midfield and be told to just go on instinct. Use your speed, be hard at it and make the opposition wary of you. If he gets some decent touches to go with it that's great. Need to add to the midfield any means necessary so we should be experimenting with as many guys as we can.

I'd got it into my head that we'd delisted Cousins. Whoops. Hope Glass makes a decent go of it and happy CJ is back. Scully "managed"?

Would rather see some midfield ineptitude from some different faces. Maybe Jones isn’t any better - but why not confirm it? At least may remind the current group that the current output is not up to scratch (as sure a few scratch matches on crap grounds will go down well). Finn has the potential to be a top line mid - when do we start his development at afl level?

Agree re glass. We need to find some guys who can play on the wing but still have some physical presence.

O’Brien luckiest bloke alive wouldn’t get a game anywhere else.
I think it’s a structure/lack of better options thing.

He needs to pinch hit in the ruck.. McEvoy looks far too cooked to ruck by himself. TOB has looked better then Lewis and Ceglar. Patton will go nowhere near the centre bounces.

Only other option would be to swap TOB for Patton and do a Richmond e.g pinch hit someone like Morrison or CJ in the ruck.

so now it’s the statistics, not the reviews?

I mean, you are welcome to your opinion and you can support it with whatever made-up nonsense you like, but when the people who actually watch him play say he’s been one of the best, and then he gets selected, it seems fair to assume he’s been going ok.
Glass will have an impact this weekend.
Just wont be for hawthorn. Have you read Cousins reviews ? They’re nothing but positives and usually state being our best place once again.

Your constant tagging of him won’t make you look cool or smart if he doesnt play well. One or two comments is enough to get your opinion across.

Personally, I’ll be interested to see how he goes. Hardened body, great burst of speed, good form, uncontracted next year. Definitely worth a game or two to see how he goes.

Stoked that CJ is in. Offers something we really don't have which is X-factor and speed coming out of defence (when Impey is playing forward).

Without trying to sound too negative, i'm disappointed Glass is the other inclusion in this 'play the kids' era. He has been given multiple chances over multiple seasons and has constantly made error after error. I didn't think he would ever play again if i'm being honest. I'm aware he has been in good form during the scratch matches, but I would have liked a few other boys to be given a go first.

Also still without trying to sound too negative, I hope Tom Scully can find happiness and success somewhere, but i'd be happy if he has played his last game in brown and gold. Won't be there for our next flag tilt and hasn't offered enough this season.

Dylan Moore played a full game on the wing in the last scratch match. I'd hope he is next in. Is first emergency this week so Clarko may be looking that way.

Hopefully Jones, Finn and Walker get a chance before the season is done too.

Edit: I can handle Cousins being overlooked if the club believes that Liam Shiels has at least 3 good years of service left. There is no way we can fit Mitchell, Worpel, Shiels, O'Meara and Cousins into the same midfield. The quickest bloke of that lot has knees held together by old rubber bands. If Pup was really struggling (which he isn't) and looked as though his days were numbered I reckon we'd be seeing Cousins and/or Jones most weeks from here on out.

Hoping for a more aggressive and positive style hawks tonight regardless of the ins, outs and the result. Be nice to see chad get more midfield minutes and quicker ball movement into a leading/ presenting forward line.
