I love that the club and Logue have obviously come to a mutual agreement that he's a required piece of our premiership puzzle, and are doing all they can to fit him into the team!

And with all the talk of Vic clubs throwing offers at him.

Perfect way to show him they are working on a way of keeping him in the team more regularly

It’s so important to have players that can play both ends in case of mid game injuries

Can’t understand the pundits in media etc that have been worried where Fyfe fits in or whether he should come back via the WAFL.

2 time brownlow medalist and equal of Petracca, Oliver, Neale. You just bring him in and others have to adjust to him. You can’t have enough depth in the midfield. He makes us better. Period!

I think Logue has the potential to be more effective for the team as a forward.
While he has excellent attributes for defense & has obviously played some good footy there he can be a bit of a deer in the headlights with an open field in front of him, makes some questionable decisions moving the ball. Plus as we’ve seen all year the whole synergy of the defense is generally better without him when all of Young, Chapman, Clark, Cox, Ryan are playing together.
In the front half his wrecking ball attributes become more useful & unlike a lot of backs who go forward he still seems to read the ball in the air & get his hands to it in packs & if he doesn’t mark it it’s coming to ground.
I think we might see him doing goal kicking practice this week!

I think it has to be about team balance. I’ve tried to say this many times and get called a Logue basher.

I didn’t think he could play anywhere else on the field but yesterday he was superb in what he brought in what was something completely new to him.

I hope he gets a run at it with this role. We know he can do a job in defense, but perhaps only now if injuries provide an opportunity.

Our back 6 is so strong. Removing Logue doesn’t weaken it. Swinging him forward gave us all sorts of different looks. Simple but effective.

That all said, it’s a 1 game sample.

It’s fair to say the Logue move onto May, albeit short, was a very good move. In saying that, do you think Freo might do similar with Harris Andrews next week?

F*** me this is a hard call.

Banfield to Peel.

Tucker for Fyfe
Colyer for Switta (harsh call)

Colyer Sub.

If Tabs doesn't pull up Colyer stays in and Tucker Sub.

Players really don't want a bad week.

Fair call. If there is a match up for him in the backline then I’m ok with him playing back. Also we will see one of Alex Pearce, Luke Ryan or Brennan Cox miss a game here or there due to injury I’m sure.

He has now shown he can fill a role in the f50. Also he could swing from the f50 to backline within a game. For example as done before when Conca got torn a new one by Charlie Cameron for a half Griff was moved onto him and shut him down. If Logue plays forward and Cameron or McCarthy gets off the chain we could shuffle the deck chairs and move Griff to lockdown defender. Bit of flexibility.

Brennan Cox went forward for a bit against Gold Coast and missed a very easy set shot. Very similar set shot to the simple one Griff missed in the first. I think the two of them need to practice a bit more goal shooting in the event they are moved forward.

On the Logue debate I was always against playing eight defenders in the 22.

It was only earlier this week that I came to the realisation that we have to find a way to make fitting all of Pearce, Cox, Logue, Ryan, Chapman, Young, Clark and Walker into the same side.

I think we actually need Clark and Walker in the back six or it’s a bit slow. Have to find another role for the other six.

Moving one of the talls forward makes sense. All three are too good not to play. It’s about maximising your ready to go talent. Logue will frustrate with his goalkicking if he stays in this role. I have almost no doubt about that. If he does eventually get the goalkicking right though we’ve solved a problem within our best 22. Let’s keep it going for a bit.

Really interesting selections coming up, if Jlo indeed says Tabs is fine.
Brisbane have a tall forward line with the obvious usual Fremantle threat in Cameron. Fort, McStay and Hipwood.
Logue may have to go back for this one to cover.
Pearce to Hipwood
Cox to McStay
Logue to Fort

Bring in Treacy, assuming Tabs is fit. Much rather the two talls with a medium thrown in. Opens up the forward line a bit.

Not sure if Logue will be a one-week wonder up forward, but I thought he took some important marks yesterday. I would persist with him forward as Walker is looking like a future AA defender.

This is the year of the small forward. If a team's small forwards play well, then they probably win.
