I very much like that JL said in the presser he liked what he saw from Logue as a forward & thinks it’s worth persisting with.
When Walker plays back we’re just better. Every game this year backs that up.
We’re not moving any of the others & Logue is too good to leave out.
I thought he looked really strong on the lead & could easily have reeled in another half dozen marks from the contests he created. He’s a bull on the ground, piles the pressure on & creates opportunities for the smalls.
Feels like another piece of the puzzle solved to me.
No changes for mine. Let Fyfe get his touch with some limited minutes at Peel.

Agree with all this except Nat should replace Darcy Tucker this week.
Give Nat something similar to Will Brodie at 65-70% GT.
If Taberner is injured I would leave it with Logue up there.

Perhaps Darcy Tucker to medi sub or Erasmus.

It’s fair to say the Logue move onto May, albeit short, was a very good move. In saying that, do you think Freo might do similar with Harris Andrews next week?
Not a bad idea, he'd run rings around Andrews when the ball hits the deck for sure.

We were dominant in that first quarter while May and Petty were still okay. If not for wasteful goal kicking we could been four or five goals ahead by quarter time. Logue up front was working.

We won the game in the middle and the media says it's because Petracca was sick. Well I'm sorry if you put your hand up to play then that's on you. We beat who they put in front of us and that was Gawn, Petracca, Oliver and Viney.

May going down helps sure but we won that game where it counted, in the guts.

Why did he play if he was sick in this day and age? Watch half our team drop out with Tracc Flu this week. 😥

Yeah, we quelled Oliver’s influence really well. The media also conveniently overlooks that we kept their much vaunted forward line to seven goals, six of them kicked in the first half.

Well Brisbane play Fremantle (3rd) and then St Kilda (4th) before their bye so it's going to be a 12 point game this weekend.

If we win, the Lions HAVE to pump St Kilda to keep in touch with the top four.

This is the phase of the season where the 12 top five matchups start to bite.

We managed to win one of them so far, huge advantage but Melbourne were already out ahead, now that we have beaten them we need them to continue beating everyone else again to push the rest down.

The Dees have a tough run of games from now on, except for Adelaide and maybe port. If we’ve given the rest of the completion a template for beating them then they could drop another three, four or five.

no doubt in my mind that logue follows that up with another good performance up forward, his game was built off effort and strength to get to contests which lobb tabs, treacy have previously probably failed to impact, its not like he put up a 5 goal game that we couldnt expect him to continue on with. just pure strength and speed some of those contests, he looked positionally no chance, but hed wrestle his way to it. loved his game

fyfe obviously comes straight in, some of you forget just how good he is, he can be the difference maker in games where our mids are getting beaten up a bit, genuine star

Their midfield is still A grade. Gawn, Oliver, Viney, Brayshaw. They were dominating in the first half.
Darcy was the game changer. Just got on top clearance after clearance. Gawn hardly got his usual tap out to advantage and was ran rugged having to track back on Darcy.
Love how the midfield hunted as a team. They didn’t win the first possession but they backed themselves to swarm the player and nullified Oliver or Viney able to cleanly dispose to start their chain. Just smart and well executed. Kudos to Josh Carr to change it all around in the second half. Aish onto Oliver. What a move.

Now Aish does the same to Neale. Simple

were 3-1 against top 8 sides so far this year, played terribly against the saints and still barely lost. that should give us loads of confidence heading into the rest of the season with some big games coming up, and of course into finals. geelong in geelong, melbourne at the g, massive wins.

Nah I actually believe him this time.

Tabs is always stretching his glutes behind the ball; which commonly can relieve back pain so I reckon it's an ongoing issue.

But you can see it happen, he reaches for the ball then falls over holding his back. No contact, looks exactly like how a back spasm starts.

He's gonna get basically 24/7 physio, massage and medicine between now and the next game. He should be right.

...

How good is it gonna be to put Fyfe back into this team?

In really looking forward to it.
yeah, i reckon tabs would be fine, would suspect the soreness he had the day before with his hip would be related
