No nightmares for me! And I thought my post about Kreuger crashing into Howe and taking them both out was funny. Guess I better not give up my day job!

For the record, I'll be happy for the player and the team (and you) if Fin does become a gun, as you so steadfastly believe. Personally, I've seen absolutely nothing in all but one of his first 17 games to suggest that it will happen but hey, maybe it will be lucky number 18 when the magic happens?

By contrast, I HAVE seen such signs in far fewer games from Harrison, Richards and Sullivan but what would I know?

I went to school with David Fanning he was about 6"4 in grade 4 he was bigger than the teachers and good bloke too was shocked when we picked him up
He told me at a friends B"day bucks was the strongest bloke he's ever met and Mick didn't talk to the young blokes too much it was just after we delisted him too

Will be a tough game. As I say every week, I’d like to see Fin given a game…he’s earned it. Some extra motivation playing against his brother should help.

Howe straight in if fit, would like to see Krueger get a game but realistically needs more VFL time. I think then that means AJ is in for Brody. None of the above fills me with confidence.

I would have thought victory depends on a total team performance, rather than one player. Perhaps with the exception of Nick.

Our ‘making do’ has worked amazingly well so far, and as the game gets closer I’m more confident about our chances. But that’s the uber optimistic Pies fan in me, and not to be relied on as indication of anything realistic at all.

As a dogs supporter (I come in peace), while pies have way more injuries, dogs have their best players injured.

Richards has been our best player the past month, Naughton, Libba and Weightman too.

It’d be like if pies had Daicos, Moore, Pendlebury etc out. Degoey is probably the only one of your outs that you could say is in the top 5 on your list, whereas dogs have 4/5.

In saying that, Pies number of injuries probably evens it out and it’s going to be a battle of the wounded. I hope it’s a good game regardless of both team’s outs.

Structure is as important as any individual player. Losing Cox (Murphy) has a huge impact on the team both structurally up forward and in the ruck. So people may scoff at his loss ( as an example) based on his statistical output while overlooking his importance to the team.

Degoey, Elliott and Mihocek are in our top 8 players and as you say we have such a large number of outs we have probably reached a tipping point.

You have a plethora of tall forwards so losing Naughton has no affect on your structure though he is clearly a better player than Lobb. We literally have no talls left in our entire squad with our two back up rucks in Steene and Begg out for the year. Steene might return to the VFL in round 19.

Our depth players are injured so we are scraping the bottom of the barrel. If we can snag a win or two before the bye ( a mighty if) we may just be able make a run for a finals berth in the home stretch

No Naughton, and Richards/Libba (hopefully misses one more) out of the midfield are massive losses for them.

Yes we have injuries, but the core of our star players remain, and our youth is stepping up. There is no area on the field where I think the Doggies have the edge over us, we should go into this confident off a 7 day break (finally) as well.

Well the Doggies youth can step up too.
