Outside of a patch in the third that was a pretty easy win. Once we tidied up a few things to take 50/50 decisions out of it the match was always going to turn back our way. Still can’t believe the number of eagle goals the umps had some hand in though. Beside having the name Jack Ginnivan does anyone know what the free was for?

The podcast I posted earlier indicates we play manic in the 1st which sets us up with a 3 goal buffer. The next 2 we try and control the momentum and in the last we go full throttle. This was also supported by data on On The Couch which show fir the season we were +100 odd for the 1st quarter. +40 odd for 2nd quarter, +11 in the 3rd and +193 in the last. Obviously our game plan is very taxing, however it is a concern the impact it has on the defence when the midfield drops its intensity and running from mid way through the 2nd to midway through the 3rd. We struggle to stop the opposition from kicking multiple run of goals.

Hopefully it’s a strategy to bank wins and preserve energy in readiness to play 12 straight manic quarters in September.

Legitimately feels like a loss to me

De Goey gone for 3-4
Hoskin-Elliott injired
Hill possibly injured
McCreery injured
Johnson possibly injured

We played like absolute garbage

Just…man. I know we won by 10 goals but this feels s**t.
Enjoy the 10 goal win and your cousin getting another 3 votes, also one of his main competitors for the Brownlow is no longer any competition

It has clearly been a strategy of Fly's, has happened too consistently to be a coincidence. Shame it leads to an unreadable gameday thread each week in the 2nd and 3rd, but as long as the wins keep ticking by we can ignore the Debbie Downers.

Well that was a game to forget. Injuries to WHE, AJ, Billy, Beau don't look bad I hope. Might get McStay, Lipa and Elliott back next week. Jordan you idiot...
AJ played out the game, just a corky. Chance he can miss with that, but more likely to play than not.

Hill, Hosk and Beau, all hurt ankles to varying degrees. Moore says only rolled, so it's not certain that any of them will miss.

It was a typical Collingwood win.Moments of absolute brilliance interspersed with long periods of lazy, half arsed play that only encouraged the opposition to try even harder.I don’t know why we go to sleep for a couple of quarters, but it seems to happen every week now. That’s why we don’t absolutely bury the opposition.Even when we have a foot on their throats,we always seem to take it off for some strange reason.

Degoey’s imminent suspension was the big news to come out of the game.I don’t know what he’ll get,but I’d say it would be classified careless, high contact, medium impact. What do you het for that?

Whoever posted in the game day thread about a deliberate plan of Pies blitzing a game’s first quarter, hibernating for quarters 2 and 3 then opening the throttle in the last to run out the game was spot on.

Incredibly frustrating for us supporters but we’ve seen it happen so many times.

Why is it frustrating?

One facet of the game is energy management.

Are we better off expending 25% of our energy in each quarter? And even if we do, it doesn’t mean that the competition will be doing that.

Dangerfield noted last week that we play in bursts, and then try and control the tempo In between as a means to preserve energy.
Yes mate. Our 4th Quarters are our best unless we are comfortably well in front.
3rd quarters in general are poor.

Missed Steele on the wing today, couldn’t tell who was actually playing there the spread just wasn’t there the first 3 quarters.
I’d be very tempted to bring in Allen sooner than later as an actual winger rather than someone else. If it was Markov today then he was invisible.

Ginni and HH did very little, Bobby was very good and checkers did what he always does, what a star.

We are going to miss JDG for a few weeks, I’d definitely be bringing in another onballer JC or Finn are surely playing next Monday.

Still not convinced about us, it’s probably because we’ve been here before and been burnt so many times. I’m taking it one week at a time.

Media already saying DeGoey is out 3+ weeks, just shits me how the media operates, you don’t see s**t like this in the US. I don’t see any media in the NBA saying how long Morant will be out.
Whether or not the media said it, he will be out for 3+ weeks. His was a moronic act and he will pay the penalty - as will the team and the fans.

Saw the incident right in front of me and didn’t think much of it until hewett stayed down definitely no malice in it hewett was sort of lower in to ground , looks like de goey didn’t leave the ground and no retribution from the eagles players either, so max 1-2 weeks out, I’d say if Hewitt got up he would of been alright
