Jai Culley plays his 10th game today

His first since doing his ACL in R8 last year and a little over 2 years since he was drafted to the club

And 758 days since this post

It’ll also be Jai’s first win at the club
Just a top notch drive-by on Dark Sharks. That sort of hit lands you two weeks.. four if you're Harley.

Hey guys, I’m a big Jai Culley fan. Just wanted to get your opinions of if you think he’ll probably stay in the side the rest of the season now or if he’s just been brought in to cover the outs this week?

I hope so Benny....he is a big body which we need

I can see him competing with Sheed Gaff for a midfield role for the rest of the season

I hope he goes well today

I think most of us hope he stays in the side for the rest of the year, I would be particularly annoyed if someone like say Sheed gets a game over Culley. But who the hell knows what Simpson will do....

Hard to see him staying in once Kelly and Reid are back in.

There’s a lot of discussion around why Sheed is being selected, and over recent weeks he’s been half used as a tagger. General consensus here is we’re not fans, but we don’t pick the team. I don’t see Sheed playing every week once the mids are back, and Culley is clearly below him in the order.

For mid sized forwards, he’s behind Maric and possibly Hutchinson depending on how he settles in after arriving last week in the MSD.

Wouldn’t bet anything substantial on Culley playing long stints of AFL footy this year if we have full availability, but I hope he shows heaps and can go comfortably past Sheed so he’s next cab off the fully healthy rank?

Yeah I’d love to see him get a crack as a full time mid rather than a half forward. Remember his first handful of games he was a tackle machine. Him Ginbey and Yeo would be a nightmare to play against lol

3 guys from MSD in 1 side

Was watching the Culley video that the club put out and my wife asked me what I was watching. Explained he was coming back from ACL, and the new kid we took last week was also playing so we had three MSD picks all in the team, which I described as “kind of cool”.

“Isn’t that a really bad sign?” was the response.

Fair point, well made. I still think it’s kind of cool…

This will be the finest win for our beagles mid. If we win then it's a genuine suprise and team should be applauded

First we get the win, then norf go 0-23, then norf lose LDU, then we salt the earth norf occupies so nothing good can ever grow out of norf footy club ever again, then finally norf fold.

Let's make it happen!

Need to get off to good start here.

North will have circled this match months ago and will be throwing everything at it.

The cynic in me expects North to get more than their fair share of questionable calls in their favour today as well - a good start will do well to prevent them from gaining momentum as a result.

Shutting down the output of LDU will determine the result - it will be interesting to see how holding gets interpreted. After seeing Reid get clotheslined multiple times without any call last week, I suspect just looking at LDU this week will amount to a free kick, which will enrage us all.

More than any other match this year, I want the Eagles to win today.

A win for North justifies their handout existence.

Defeating them today moves the competition a step closer to one where handouts and overtly manufactured outcomes for minnow clubs no longer exist.
