Who do we reckon Sheedy was referring to when he said some people at the club may not realise how important this game is? Seemed like a pretty pointed thing to say by someone currently reviewing the club.

There’s more posts here overall but they’re in lots of different threads, instead of having all the midfield makeup chatter, injuries, suspensions, player form, team selections etc in one thread.

It’s probably exacerbated by having our fourth worst season in history, but most of our preview threads are in general around 2-300 posts by the time they’re locked on game day. Even the final last year was only 600.

It’s all outside noise and most of the guys view the saga as ancient history because they weren’t there when it happened.

The review thing hasn’t really affected the playing group either.

So that’s nice I guess.

We’ve got to play 2 rucks tomorrow night as well as wright. We can expose the 2nd Carlton ruck and we need wright at all times in the forward line to ask questions of their key backs.

I think the most interesting thing is what they didn’t say… no one seems to have asked the players what they think. Although possibly they just asked the leadership group and not 2MP I guess.

Isn't that because it's ancient history to most of the current playing group? I expect tht if they were asked what they thought about it they would have said said "not much".

The saga yes, he mentioned that. The review was announced under two weeks ago and is apparently ongoing.

Stewart has to come in to play on mckay as much as we don’t like it. Laverde on curnow. Reid on silvangi, it’ll be extremely disappointing if they drop him due to match ups,

I've always hated Carlton. I dislike Collingwood, Hawthorne and Norf, but I hate Carlton. I think it really started with the 99 prelim for me.
Then the 2011 elimination final when we got trounced by 62 points. Sat in the third tier of the GSS, listening to this crusty old Carlton f**k shout Juddy! at the top of his lungs every time CJudd so much as looked at the ball. At said match, then coping abuse from crusty old f**k on the way out for losing.

Yeah but it’s not only about the win for us. It’s also about what we can do to take Carlton down with us. Clearly other teams have been too complacent so it’s up to Essendon to make the top 8 a Carlton free zone. A real round 4 2012 opportunity tomorrow. I think a bench-clearing line-in-the-sand style brawl is the only way it gets to that.
