You have a good run home and from what I saw today you should make the 8. The Maric/Jacobs clash was awsome to watch, you got a good one there!

I can't believe we dropped Conca and selected Elton & Miller. Also, when things aren't working in our forward line, why don't they put Miller CHB and Griffiths CHF???

Does anyone think that their was a need for a clash jumper i went over to the adelaide board and a couple of poster were fuming about it. Personally i think their is a massive difference between our jumper and theirs and that there crying over nothing, and that the players simply made errors in assuming that their team mate was the relief option.

totally agree, no need for clash Jumper for a match between these sides

I don't expect him to kick 60 a year, or any more than 1 a game. I do expect him to perform his role though, and he simply hasn't done that. Whether he's confused as to what his role is, I don't know, but he needs to make himself much more dangerous, even as a lead up player so that teams will account for him. As it stands, they have all the time in the world to sag off and double team Jack.

It seemed he could do this job last year, but for whatever reason our forward structure with him in this side has gone to shit.

yep as i said if all he does is run at the ball carrier all day at around 60m and draw a defender /mark the ball then id be happy.

Thought it was pretty clear which team was which but of all the teams we wear a clash against this would be the biggest clash. Compared to say Essendon and Port?

David Bourke..bwahaha now there's a gun :)
You will never find an answer, he is literally the worst AFL footballer going around, even Kepler is showing more than Jackson. Every single time I see him with the ball I almost can't watch.

I have been calling for his head for the last 3 years, apparently he cannot be dropped as we have no one to fill his role. I would rather David Bourke back.

Edwards did alright today I felt, Just couldn't quite finish his marks and made a few silly errors. Overall though I would have put him in our top 10 (we didn't have much to talk about)
rke

I think we choked today.
When they got a run on in the 2qt our backline started fumbling, the mids stopped running and started to worry about the opp, and we stopped taking the game on. Which resulted in alot of poor descision making especially when delivering i50.
We tried to not lose it instead of winning it.

It was an awesome 1qt and another honorable loss to a top team, but at the same time shows yet again we have alot of improving to do before we can ice these games after getting to a solid lead.

Tex apeman Walker, hope you get 6 weeks for that pile drive slam on young Steve --- Jackson your a clown in
 deliberating  with the ball---close to tambling in what you give to the side, chuck out dea, milller, connors ,& I've been a fan of nahas but m8 your not up to it either

shattered loosing that, with the draw to come its flapped us

I have had Jackson in my sights for a while but do feel to be fair to him since they moved him to HFF he's done ok. I did not see the game today, so am wondering if he was played on the ball (where I feel he is a liability) or did he have a poor game on the forward line?

Surely the Tigers are not that desperate to have to play Miller. Against top teams he's a total liability. It was understandable last year, but not this year when we have a good chance for finals. There have to be better options up forward - Vickery, Astbury, Griffiths, Derrixs, anybody.

C'mon Vickery, get with the program and salvage something out of this year.

Totally agree, Grimes should have gone to Walker.

And Hardwick should stop playing favourites to Miller, Dea and Houli. Surely Batchelor and Conca warranted selection.

Very likely the Conca and Batch decision came down to Batchellor or Grimes and Conca or Connors. Had Derickx been in good form as a KPD he could have been used on Tippett and Griffiths played at CHF and Elton left out .

First quarter was arguably the best quarter we've played this year and everything looked great. Then the Crows did what all good sides do, they adjusted and made moves to get them back into the game. Most notably they moved Rutten off of Jack and onto Elton. IMO this one move pretty much changed the game. It allowed Rutten to float around the D50 and double team Jack. Unfortunately we didn't adjust to this and kept on going to Jack rather than looking at making Elton the target to get Rutten to make him accountable.

The other thing they did which stuffed us was flood back in numbers and leave their forward half open. It was noticeable that after quarter time the Crows forwards had plenty of room to lead and move, while our guys were stuck running into brickwalls and more often than not having to kick to packs. For mine we need to get Vickery back in as he is considerably more dangerous than Miller is and with Elton and Jack would be a dangerous 3 pronged tall forward line.

conca is #1 at the club for clangers and free kicks against, his dropping was a long time coming, fair to say he could have definitely provided more yesterday, possibly getting ahead of himself and needed to have a reality check

after the gws game you could prob say the same for batch. i was happy to see them both dropped, its a long term view that dimma wont accept complacency and bad attitude and both have shown that recently

we didnt lose the game because those two didnt play and miller and elton did. miller and elton were on the field when we slotted 8 in the first. i think we lost cos as a team we do not know what its like to have a decent cushion against a quality team and have no idea how to defend a lead.

in the second half we over possessed and played keepings off like there were minutes on the clock, not trying to penetrate and lock it up forward. we would chip around the wing where a turn over was severely punished. as much as our kicking has improved over the years ( disp. eff. 72% against crows 68%) when we start looking across the ground rather than forward, players stop leading, become stagnant and predictable and it gets to a point where we are possessing the ball to control the tempo, to being forced into it as there are no other options. and pumping it down the we seems to have a knack of letting the opp. ruckman taking an uncontested mark rather than kill the contest, as dimma stated in his press conference

And there is the problem.. according to our game plan NOBODY is doing that role as well as Miller
Were not going anywhere as a side when we keep playing Miller seriously hope you guys can freaken see that, anyone can follow a damn game plan it aint ****en rocket science. Miller is a fuken plague on this side as is Jackson. Supossed to be recruiting guys who can kick well but under pressure even Lids kicks to a 3 on 1 when there is a man 20m in the clear inside 50 just the whole team is a complete rabble atm.

Miller should be dropped for the rest of the season, then de-listed. Unless he can re-invent himself as a defender, there is no room up forward for someone who can't even kick the ball straight. He did more for Adelaide yesterday than us.

got home yesterday and watched the game after half time, couldn't understand how we had such a lead with how we were playing??
just watched the first quarter this morn and cant believe we could play that poorly after such an amazing start???
we were irresistible in the first quarter

I'm not one to single out one moment in a match as the reason we lost, but the turning point in the game IMO, was at the start of the 2nd quarter when Miller had the ball no more than 25m out in front of 3 crow players, instead of running straight into goal, he turned in board and tried to pin point Jack who had a defender hot on his heels, the ball got turned over and the crows scored a goal. Before that goal the score was 51 to 18. After that turnover from Miller the crows kicked 4 in a row and were back in the game. If Miller kicks that goal we have a 7 goal lead and momentum stays with us early in the 2nd.

Some people just need to take a chill pill. We are still a developing side. Playing a top 4 team away and we had more disposals, I50's, tackles, marks, contested possessions and a higher DE. We got beat in the clearances by the best clearance team in the League on their own patch. Once again the main difference was our ability to convert our F50 entries to goals after qtr time.

We are doing a lot of things right and have improved immensly from last year. If we improve this much again next year we will all get what we've been craving.

For mine, that was our worst loss for the year, and it was nowhere near an "honourable loss". Worse than Carlton or Collingwood. Worse than Geelong, West Coast and Essendon.

The things that most disappointed me:
  • I don't think I've seen us lose the clearances that badly all year, and nothing effective was done about it by either the coaches or players. Where the hell was the extra player cutting off the resulting entries coming in thick and fast.
  • A decent team should never give up a 33 point lead. NEVER.
  • Losing 3 quarters badly. The 2nd and 4th in particular I thought we were slaughtered and lucky to get away with not losing by more.
  • Passengers everywhere, connected with a poor selection. Elton should never have been selected and I struggle to see any positive he would get from his first senior run. I had Conners papers marked at the end of last year and think he's burnt his last chance.
  • Rance was given an absolute towelling, but would have coped better if he had any support.
  • For **** sake I am sick an tired of losing games where we have more scoring shots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • But the biggest disappointment of all is after a great first quarter we never looked like we were trying to take the game on and play to win. Lids, Dusty, Grigg, Nahas, Houli etc etc etc just looked like they were trying to save the game, not WIN IT.
/Rant.
Great to see Grimes back.

elton should have taken millers place if we really wanted to blood him.
Miller should not be playing
we desperately need vickery to come good. or someone to step up and be a good-very good forward. jack cant do it all.

stupid not to play an extra mid in conca and play another tall.
wright quelled cotchin.
talia completely shut down jack once he was moved onto him.

first time all year we've been beaten by tall forwards with rance and grimes playing. I dont think we got much use out of griff today.
they got goals from players who had kicked f*** all all season. come on...

was there, first quarter was fantastic. they were slow out of the blocks and had poor match ups. they fixed it. they came out dead hard after that.

I wasnt confident given the team selection, think we made our mistakes there and ultimately they cost us I believe.
conca would have given us some more run and a better chance of drawing even in the clearance. not having foley already hurt us. dropping another mid hurt us more.
if you really wanted to play another tall I think they should have gone with derrickx just because he has a much more mature body than elton. shaw got to play free because talia and rutten were all over there match ups. miller is a dud. cant kick 50m.

we have all the making of a good team. im disappointed but im not shocked im not hysterically angry. we need to develop another tall competitive forward. or we need vickery to fire. losing king really hurt but it wasn't the be all end all.

bring on next week i expect us to bounce back and be all over the dees.
