A win gives us a pulse to make the top 8.
Playing a very defensive Ross Lyon team. No surprises there.
Neale will get the Windhager tag. So, he will need help to deal with that.

McKenna the only injury with an ankle issue.
Hard to see any unforced changes to a side that finally seemed to click v Dogs.
Luke Beecken showed he looks like an AFL player in his first game for the Lions VFL side.
Maybe he gets a chance later on in the season as we have a heap of HBF players.
McLachlan and Craven also had good debuts in the VFL team after having to move interstate and fit into a new side.

Don't think they will allow Neale to run around like he just did. Forgot the Crows player name, but he has done some tagging the last two games? (Miller last night)

if we can make a big impact first quarter, and not allow them to play their usual shit style, it will open it up for us as they try catch up

please oh please, no scores under 75

Windhager. Feels like the kind of match-up Neale would struggle with too, he's a big body that can hold him off the ball.

If McKenna is out with an ankle I'd go Shadeau Brain or if they're game enough Luke Beecken otherwise no changes.

Plus don't have Answerth as a sub again, give him a full game in the reserves and have Brain/Beecken as the sub.

The Neale tag is a concern but I think with Berry not really needing to tag a Saints player, Berry can be used to give Neale some help. I'm sure the coaches can work out a way for Berry's big body to get in there and assist. Although Berry did alright finding his own ball inside v Dogs even while tagging Bont. Either way I think we'll be too good in the middle for the Saints.

Don't expect any changes, don't think any are warranted. I'd like to see McKenna ease off the dodgy kicks a bit. Really happy with the team first work Charlie is doing. He'll get his goalkicking eye in, it'll click for him soon. I'd like to see the space the fwds are getting continue. That dogged hunting determination has to remain more than anything.

Wouldn't mind Brain as the sub, as I think the sub should be someone quite young (hasn't built up the tank to run a full game) or old (starting to decline). Beecken probably needs another week in the VFL first to get used to the club.

Fagan said McKenna could’ve kept playing if needed so he’s not an out based on injury.

I can’t imagine a change other than perhaps to the sub. Noah didn’t do anything wrong but you wouldn’t want someone like him playing multiple games as sub. I’d bring in Dev to replace Noah in the sub vest.

If Neale is tagged by windhager imo we use Berry to tag windhager

Think About It GIF by Identity

I agree with most people here. No major changes. However, I think if we’re considering changing the sub to give Answerth a full game, maybe we swap him for Bruce. I know Bruce is a favourite but I think Answerth was stiff to be dropped and we could just as easily give him a full game in the ones as in the twos.

No changes. Need to stick with this team
Best 23 players in combination I think we can play at the moment. Players fit their roles, and there's plenty of versatility. It's a good mix.

Gotta keep the sub match fit tho. We can rotate Answerth, Reville, maybe Fletcher as sub, keeping the 23 together or we can give the sub a full game in the Vfl giving a Sharp, Brain, Dev or Tunstil an opportunity to sub. It also keeps them in touch with the Afl game and pace should an injury see them promoted.

If McKenna plays, then i think Answerth should play VFL to keep up match fitness.
Any of Sharp, Dev. Brain or Lyons can be the sub.

No chance Reville gets the sub role.
Topped our tackle count and increases his TOG to 77% from his previous high of 68%.
He needs more full AFL games to get his fitness level up for this and next season.
If his form drops off which i don't think it will, best he goes back to the VFL.

I wonder if Reville should be deployed as a half back. I know we have plenty but he is one of the best ball users in our team, with the ball in his hands it will nearly always find a player and reduces the risk of repeat inside 50's for the other team. also think he needs to find the ball more and him being in the backs will allow this.

Unchanged but I'd consider changing the sub

I felt sorry for answerth when bt went up to him after the game questioning whether he would be back to the twos next week. The response was essentially I'll work hard at training and go where in told.

Being the sub and getting five minutes at the end must feel like shit.

BT is such a douche! I dream of a world where I can mute the channel 7 commentary team and still hear the crowd noise.

Our wingers under Fagan are just not high possession players excluding Berry.
We also need our wingers to deliver the ball well to our forwards and not turn it over

Agree he would probably get more possessions playing halfback. I think he is needed more on the wing though.
Zorko has a 77% disposal efficiency over 12 games with a lot more disposals and some risky kicks, slightly ahead of Reville 76% for 5 games. McKenna also takes risky kicks and is 73% for his 7 games. Answerth is 80%.
We all remember the Zorko and McKenna turnovers because they can be costly.
But they are the two defenders that take the risky kicks.

Our Wingers: Fletcher is 79%, Ah Chee 79%, Reville 76% & Sharp only 62% possibly why Reville got the nod over Sharp.
Average disposals for our wingers: Sharp 11, Reville 12.6, Ah Chee 13.2 & Fletcher 14.8

I don't like his commentary and I do cringe at the roaming bt mostly but sometimes he nails it. Not sure the nails it to cringe ratio justifies the segment though.

Release Neale by getting Berry or Dunkley in the way. I think Berry should be last option and we should send him to Steele first.
Similarly Charlie needs to play a defensive role on Sinclair. It'll shut their drive from HBF.

Vs Dogs I liked how our coaches came with a plsn to blunt opposition weapons rather than just play our way. More of the same please.
